In the real world, we call the above ‘hot air’.

Second only to the USAF? You are displaying as much capacity for rational and realistic thought as your ACM…

Or maybe you are just making up crap to try and flame?

I’m not sure how things are done where you are from, but where I’m from, baseless nonsense has the same weight in a discussion as a fart. Probably less so in fact, since a fart is at least unintentional.

Check the ‘Real World’ aircraft inventories, capabilities & delivery systems today & projected. When you’re the darling customer (and strategic bulwark) of the West, Israel & Russia you’ll get access to some pretty impressive w/systems and ToT.

“The J-20 is reminiscent of the Russian MiG 1.42 both in terms of planform, and also with regard to the rear fuselage configuration,” says Douglas Barrie, senior fellow for military aerospace at London’s International Institute for Strategic Studies. “The most obvious difference is the greater forward fuselage shaping as the basis for low observable characteristics, along with the different engine intake configuration. The MiG program was cancelled by the Russian government around 1997.” However, the similarity to the MiG concept may suggest some collusion with the Russian aviation industry.

Oh, after MiG lost the PAK-FA tender they lobbied the IAF hard for the LMFS which also lost-out to Sukhoi’s T-50, and guess what?

Most probably, the LMFS will retain the delta canard configuration of the heavy MiG 1.44 prototype. Being asked directly about the new fighter configuration, Barkovskiy answered indirectly: “It would be illogical if we reject the experience we accumulated while developing that project [MiG 1.44].” He also mentioned that “the number of wind tunnel tests [of the 1.44 models] was vast, setting a new record in Russia. [So] we are making use of these materials and transforming them into the fifth generation aircraft.”

    http://www.ato.ru/content/migs-fifth-generation-fighter-builds-new-momentum

Where do you think MiG 1.44/E-271/LMFS technical data ended up? I’ll give you a clue, starts with ‘Ch’ and ends with ‘du’. It’s not called flaming, it’s called deductive reasoning.

If the RuAF and IAF rejected the above, then the J-20’s a de facto 3rd hand fighter!

Jo, you are obviously very proud of your country India, but can you take your flaming elsewhere? 😮

Who said I was Indian, don’t let the facts cloud your judgement…but I guess ‘touchy’ is better than ‘aggressive’.

Oh, Mon Dieu!! I just read SWG06’s post- suddenly everything is clear!

When one read such silly and petty comments, one cannot but feel that it is jealousy and spite speaking. And it really is a disgrace that someone of his position would stoop so low. But If the ACM’s ridiculous remarks represent his real views, then the future of the IAF looks bleak indeed.

Qualitatively and capability wise the IAF is way ahead of the PRC today. By 2025 (if all goes as planned) it’ll be second only to the USAF. The J-20 won’t change that- but a lifting of the arms embargo might (i.e. not likely).

As for the ACM, rather rash statements (probably juiced-up by the journo) who knows, maybe the ACM’s seen the E-721 😉 (:p).

Careful now, some people don’t like questions that lead to possibly uncomfortable answers…

There’s nothing uncomfortable about the answer the last time you asked for it (a few days ago), and there won’t be when you ask it again (in a few days), here’s the answer (again):

    http://forum.keypublishing.com/showpost.php?p=1698913&postcount=754

And yet, I can still see it 🙂 I must be the only one.

The consensus is that I photoshoped the compressor face in 🙂

There is no curve. There is no bend. That is about as conventional of an intake as they come.

Kapedani, if you take paralay’s engine config. rendition below to be accurate, and I believe it is, then that ‘thing’ cannot be the comp. face- unless you’re talking about the one you may (or may not have) photoshopped.

T-50-03 & 04 will fly with the AESA in 2011-12, the set is already under flight-test aboard a company Su-30. It’s likely the MKI upgrade will commence with the new batch ordered from Irkut (42) to be delivered 2015-18 (not to be confused with the 44 airframes for BrahMos integration), so that’s plenty of development/EMD time.

It’s highly likely there’ll be an engine upgrade also, either Salyut’s FM-2 or FM-3, or even Saturn’s 117S. Pogosyan said a couple of months ago that the precise nature of the MLU is under negotiation but it will be a “deep modernisation”.

Yeah, this is great news, though the radar in question has yet to be revealed.

Imho, it’ll be a variation of the PAK-FA’s radar as Tikhomirov-NIIP have stated that it is intended for Su-27/30 (even MiG-29) upgrades, not to mention NIIP being Sukhoi’s near-monopoly supplier. It’ll also give NIIP excellent economies-of-scale (~280 units for the MKI alone).

Please tell me they don’t plan on fitting a pre-loaded pod after every flight! 😮 With the clearances involved, it would be as easy as changing an engine .

Can you imagine if they got the labels mixed-up?! 😮 I guess launching JDAMS @ J-10s could be quite interesting.

I don’t like the SH, but the ‘International roadmap’ cockpit/MMI is very nice indeedy! 😎

Why does it need the more powerful EPE if it already has a respectable TWR?

    :diablo:

It’s for a new airshow maneuver called ‘ripping your wings off’. 😀

Seriously disappointed with EADS’ efforts thus far. Presenting a dinky model of a non-existant/rejected aircraft and umming & aahing about this and that @ the 11th hour almost beggars belief.

SAAB’s in pole position, with Dassault waking from its slumber. The yanks- difficult to gauge, jmts.

Another upgrade program currently in the planning addresses the Su-30MKI, which will receive a new radar, and, most importantly, integration of Indian BrahMos missile carrying- capability. A Su-30MKI carrying a BrahMos missile at the centerline is on display here at Yalahanka

A few years ago when the UK-US source code saga erupted the Admiral of the RN was quoted as saying “don’t worry, we have a plan B”, -the Naval Typhoon was the plan B- ultimately it’ll go head-to-head with the naval AMCA & F-35 B/C.

No, by that he means the decision will be taken sometime between this fiscal year and the next i.e. the period between FY (March) 2011 and FY (March) 2012.
