    1 main X-band (nose) + 2 small X-band ‘cheek’ arrays + 2 L-band leading edge arrays = 5 ‘radars’ (or 1 radar + 4 conformal arrays would be more accurate).

    Ms Rousseff’s priorities are to deliver the austerity drive needed to curb high interest rates and bring the currency exchange rate down. She will struggle to get spending cuts past her party’s coalition partners-the PMDB, her biggest ally, is already angry about its allocation of ministerial posts.
    So FX-2 is definitely on the back-burner.

    Having said that, she is Da Silva’s protege (who dislikes the US), and a former marxist guerilla is highly unlikely to order an overpriced capitalist type (F-35).

    I think Lula is hugely relieved that Rousseff will have to take the decision.
    Dassault & Sarkozy may have done their best to ‘persuade’ Lula to sign beforw his leaving office to avoid the current situation. But Rousseff declaring it as not a priority is bad news for Dassault (imho).

    Russia will not export Pak-fa to anyone. Their Su-35S is like the F-35.

    Sukhoi is a profit-making enterprise and the FGFA is the export version of their premier product (the T-50), it will definitely have a business model, most probably along the lines of the Su-30MKX.

    As for self escort how much persistence will the dual mission tasked, stealth configeration F35 have in either a2a or a2g?

    Will Israeli AF F-35s be able to self-escort? I remember they were adamant about installing their idigenous EW kit, I believe they got their way.
