    you are right! Your photo has one pod under each wing, one is an ELT555, what is the other? Might it be a chaff dispenser?

    What are these pods under the moroccan F-5F?

    The pods are Elettronica ELT/555 ECM pod.
    Northrop F-5A were delivered in metallic colours, see attachment during handing over ceremony.
    This site has much information about the F-5

    Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter/Tiger II

    Dear colleagues !

    Basing on worldairforces.com site information, I have found some strange facts (or fables ?) about Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter/Tiger II jet aircrafts. This site states, that following F-5s were used in:

    – Bangladesh – F-5E/F, more than 20 examples;
    – Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen) – F-5B/E, about 22 planes;
    – North Korea – F-5, about 4 examples (captured ?);
    – Uganda – F-5, amount unknown;
    – Ecuador – F-5E/F, 12 examples.

    Who can to confirm or confute these facts ?
    Any more information ?
    Any images are welcome !!!

    Or it is false and fable ?

    Wait for the answers.

    Regards,
    Flyer.

    Togolese examples are of EMB-326GC standard – that’s AT-27 Xavante. This information has been out ever since.

    The aircrafts are definitely Embraer built. I have seen serial 5V-MAY at Sao José dos Campos factory on April 26th, 1978 with their pilots on training.
    Togo bought 6 aircrafts in 2 instalments of 3, one is reported as written-off on Octoebr 2nd, 1981, another on October 31st, 1983. The photo shows, or it looks like to show, the remaining 4 aircrafts.

    oh, lil bonus:

    some of you will remember the camo’d Ethiopian F-86 seen on tom coopers site

    had, been trying to find out if the camo it carried was sand or grey, like in the profile drawing for a model of mine…

    ..hilariously, it seems a south African purchased this airframe, followed by a fellow kiwi: with this airframe ending up a mere 300km from me! LOL

    funny how aircraft can travel 😀

    *but wait theirs more Ethiopian sabres! from the Avspecs website

    ..restored into schitty USAF ones! 😡

    Any idea if Ethiopian F-5s were also bought? Photos and any information most welcome

    Would these not be the original delivery markings? This would where the Royal Libyan Air Force markings would have been originally. Faded paint work?[/QUOTE]

    The aircraft passed through Malta on delivery with Royal Libyan AF markings. Probably these markings were deleted after the revolution and US markings painted on for some sort of “enemy” show

    Yemen received 10 F-5E from USA (though 14 serials are generally given 75-0064 – 11 and 77-01775/76, this last lost 21-01-80) and 2 F-5B from Saudi Arabia (serials 72-01345 and 53).
    Probably they are withradwn from use, though aviation magazines state they are still operational. Do you have any additional information, like local serials, Squadron operating them and present status?
