Textron sues Iran over Bell 205 & 206 knock-offs
The knockoffs, sold under the Shahed 276 and Shabaviz 275 names, and fake parts “trade on Bell’s reputation,” according to the suit filed Sept. 29 in U.S. District Court in Washington. Bell asked the court to order the Tehran-based companies to stop making the helicopters and award damages.
Not on the EH101; strongest RR/TM donk for this app is the 2,270shp RTM322 02/8 (Mk250).
Small article on the Mk5 in this week’s Flight: Mi-24 reborn for new role.
The RAF’s PR9s may have left the theater (and service), but it looks like NASA’s WB-57Fs are now in-country doing ‘scientific research’…

Well, it’s been a painful process getting here. I’d hate to think how much money has already been spent on numerous FOAS studies over the last decade (including a large F-22 class manned tactical bomber) to get to this point.
Attached are CGI’s of some of BAES’ earlier UCAV studies.
Who runs that MD-80 in the last frame as a tanker?
I do hope that Pprune’s Beagle doesn’t hear about your slight of his favorite Conway-powered sled :diablo:

Only four FAF aircraft delivered to date; fifth and sixth due to follow later this month and during November. All eight COS birds already delivered.
Nice work. For your next update, the NH 90 needs resizing.
Some heavy iron.
Whats the 9N142M? The Bastion 105mm round?
It’s the version of the Invar/AT-11 (in good old 125mm) with the tandem shaped-charge warhead (aka Invar-M). Prior ASIC designation was 9M119M1, can’t say why the change to an ‘N’ designation.
Project 2091, more of an upgrade than genuine locally-produced variant. Like the Panha Shabviz 2061 (B206 JetRanger) and Shavabiz 75 (Bell 214C) it uses a combination of Xmas-tree’d parts and reverse-engineered components. The locally-produced bird is the Shahed 274, a mish-mash of various (mainly 206) components, which shares the MH2000’s lack of good looks.
The article basically states that the new 3UBK14F round is based on the 9M119F, and intended primarily for ‘soft’ MOUT targets (unlike the shaped-charge anti-armor 9M119 & 9N142M). Max range is 3.1 miles, and the munition is now in production. Despite the poorly-worded bullet point, the article does note that round uses the same semi-automatic laser beam-riding guidance system as the original 9M119 missile.
