Yes, sorry, back on topic……good luck with that! Next door maybe unless you repaint it?
I got myself all positioned and ready, turned my camera on and the battery went flat! Took this on my phone, it’s a bit grainy but you get the idea. Hoping I get a better one at Cockpit Fest.

Oh dear, hope you get it all sorted, thinking of you all x
Very welcome, lovely to see you at the Cathedral on Friday, thank you for not ejecting me! I felt very honoured and humbled to be in the close presence of some of the other visitors.
Was very sorry to hear the sad news from NAM though of the other events of Friday, condolences to his family and all who knew him, he will be most sadly missed.
I thought it was rather good, but wondered why you’d kept quiet about it! :diablo:
Nice piece in the local newspaper TwinOtter! http://www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk/articles/news/Soaring-plans-for-museum
We’d owned this land to the side of Camp Road, Swinderby for 20 years, before we found this…. http://flic.kr/s/aHsjBqNGFY behind a heap of spoil from the site clearance. We didn’t know it was there, looks like they’d tried to demolish it before selling this part of land off but not quite succeeded.
I’ve been touting our short film around now for a couple of year (yes I know most are now bored with it) and apart from the faithful few had no interest at all. I know it needs a lot of work and remaking as it was made primarily for a small target market, but I did hope that there may be a bit of interest for someone to expand it, it seems not, http://www.vimeo.com/14431980
As for house programs and Gok, who would be mad enough to get involved in that sort of thing :diablo:
It’s the actual 70th Anniversary today, if you remember please spare them a thought at 22.56hrs. I will raise a glass to them, as one sister said ‘He was killed when I was 15, he was my hero then, and he still is’
Thank you, we were very pleased with how it all went. So wonderful to meet so many people we’d emailed and written to finally in the flesh.
I’m totally hoarse now, no surprises there, but after everyone had gone Annie, Ian and I went back for a few moments quiet contemplation to the Memorial, just as the sun was setting…a beautiful end to a wonderful day. http://flic.kr/s/aHsjE2z8yS
If I can help with the weather, I will 😉
We’re ready for you 🙂 Are you impressed with the weather we’ve arranged :diablo:
They should be, will see later as I have a meeting up there to finalise the order of service. Hoping the ones planted around the memorial that one of the crews sisters sent have flourished, as she is coming on Sunday!
And thanks TwinOtter an extra piece of cake for you on Sunday 🙂
Yes indeed! Happy to arrange something, the wider their story is heard, the better we have done our job! If you could DM me an address please, I would happily send a few out on sale or return or whatever is suitable.
Just writing a piece to be included in the service to show the personal side of this, some wonderful quotes from family and friends, lump in my throat.
Absolutely, we were so pleased to hear the Staunton grandchildren on who’s families land this accident occurred will be attending the service on Sunday. They have always shown great interest in what happened and their grandparents and parents are keen that they will be aware of this event in history and the effect it had on so many people.
I stood with one of the young grandsons at the rededication day two years ago, and we watched the BBMF Lancaster fly up the valley, I’m not sure who’s jaw dropped the lowest, we were both so in awe we nearly forgot to run to see her bank over the Hall and our Memorial.
A wonderful sight and a day he will always remember I’m sure.
