Back in the day of Balkan, Hemus Air and AirVIA who all operated TU154 aircraft into NCL during the summer from BOJ and VAR, I think Servisair retained handling contracts intially, they were certainly interesting to handle – possibly some of the long time staff will share with you the stories, particularly from LZ machines??:diablo:
Balkan Bulgarian Airlines is no relation to BH Air, which operates into NCL at present, using A320 aircraft. Ask any member of the ground staff who used to handle the ‘Billy’ Tupolevs and they’ll tell you a few horror stories!!!
Incidentally, the new ‘national’ carrier of Bulgaria has begun charter flights into NCL on tuesday evenings using 733 equipment.
Would imagine the following:
Easyjet A319/73G
Jet2.com 733/757
Aer lingus 320
fly thomas cook 320/757
thomson fly (do they have a BFS base?)
euro cypria 738
iberworld 320
bh air 320
Hope it answers your questions!
SAGA are a Turkish charter ACMI carrier, operating a number of season charters to Turkey for ‘Scot Travel Holidays’. Expect them in on thursday, friday and saturady evenings using 738 equipment.
Ramp generally or loosely means any job which is undertaken on the tarmac, where aircraft park during a turnaround. Positions such as baggage loader, pushback, guys who service toilets etc. Many employed by a third party such as Menzies, Servisair or Swissport, though some airlines do have their won handling services. Dispatchers would also be part of the ramp team, when supervising a turnaround, however can also fall part of operations.
Operations are in my mind 2 areas. 1, every airline will have an operations department close to their head office, which controls their own fleet of aircraft throughout the world, sometimes including crew etc. They do a hell of a lot more besides! 2, handling agents also have operations offices at airports, where dispatchers, load controllers etc produce load sheets and generally ‘run’ the shift from.
Obviously some of the others on here maybe able to add more, but thats kind of an overview for you. 🙂
Air Bee can be added to the list.
Hope all works out for XL staff:confused:
Anyone got any of these?

2 TCX 757 operating up to 35 weekly flights.
