I’ve just made a start on clearing the loft and came across this photo of the Sunderland moored in the Pool of London. From a bit of research, it would have been in September 1982.

This one was on display at the Duxford show recently with the summary of its history.

Antoni – thanks for such a comprehensive and fascinating answer. Someone asked me that question just a few days ago and I had no answer for him. I do now!
An outstanding set from a great end to the season.
Thanks also for the information about camera settings and where you were standing – very useful and interesting.

Hi,
Which day did you go, and how early were these photos taken?

I’ve just come back from a (non aviation) holiday – well except for a few outdoor museums, with my new 30D.
I took about 1500 shots and although I’ve not reviewed them all, I’ve been very pleased with the results so far. I’m using a 24-105L lens as my “standard” lens with the 100-400L now on my 20D body, and I’m also happy with both lenses.
Hope this helps.

It doesn’t look pixelated to me, but I have been previously advised to resize in stages to avoid this problem.
Hope this helps.

WA 638 was superb – gleaming to the extent that photography was tricky in the glorious sunshine!!

If may assist with the nostalgia…

Absolutely superb photos Darren. I just wish I’d been there.

One of the most stunning collections of photos I’ve ever seen posted. Just outstanding. Thank you for sharing.

I was there….and jolly good it was too.
If I may….just one from a collection of pics of this photogenic and charismatic aircraft taken at Rochford last Sunday.
