Prototype’s first flight was early this year.
That’s why the title of the tread reads “SU-35 , how will it sell?”
If you don’t have a clue, go and do some research on your own about what happened immediately after Desert Storm instead of annoying the people here. Google is a click away
Hey, guys, icecream is eaten hot or cold ?
Do I really need to put it in the microwawe oven?
I don’t have a clue, that’s why I’m asking
Are F-16 replacing the A-10 best suited for such a role ?
They tried it in the early 90’s and failed.
Best CAS aircraft are A-10 and Su-25, and will remain so for the forseeable future.
The only advantage of F-16, F-15E, Su-24 over the ones above in performing CAS is the speed – they can reach the scene faster
Well, I omitted Croatia because I was thinking only about NATO states.
Anyway, it is firmly in the western camp, so they could get them, no problem.
It’s just that I never heard about any Croatian requirement regarding naval choppers.
Their top priorities right now are the replacement of the MiG-21 squadron (12 birds) and a new transport plane in the C-27J / Casa 295 class.
The U.S.-based test aircraft will be displayed at a Black Sea defense trade show in Bucharest, Romania, at the end of September, with Kaman eyeing new Eastern European NATO members as potential customers.
Well, Romania already has navalized Pumas, Bulgaria ordered Panthers so they won’t buy it.
Poland has some donated Seasprites, so they are a potential market.
Slovenia? They don’t need 11 ASW/ASuW helos, having a very small shoreline.
Baltic States are also too small to afford operating such a fleet.
Note: the Seasprite in the picture is a New Zealand one, not Australian – the Kiwi gives it away 😀
Nice, thanks for sharing.

in my unit the RB was used for both RECC and later 1986-1988 IN interceptor role
Are you sure it’s not a mistake?
RB can’t be used as an interceptor
What can you say about the report that Soviets flew from bases in Iraq various types of MiG-25 to test them in combat during 1980-1988? Did they loose any?
Thank you

Wrong. This is a commonly believed nonsense. The Su-25KM Scorpion project never went beyond prototype stage and all published photographs of Georgian Su-25s show just vanilla version of the aircraft. Even the aircraft supplied to Turkmen AF from Tbilisi were not modernized..
At least three Georgian AF Su-25 were upgraded to Scorpion standard by July 2007.
Take a look at this picture:
http://myaviation.net/?pid=01130310
and compare it with this:

Bort 18, 22 and 23 have all the external modifications characteristic to the Scorpion upgrade
The picture above ^ is showing an Indian example
