AdmarilZhengHe, do you have any useful contribution to this forum? All I see is endless bashing of anything that is Russian.
Like it or not, without the Russian hardware PLAAF would be nothing! If it weren’t for the Sukhois and Lyuka-powered J-10s even Taiwan alone could defeat PLAAF in a short time.
creting?
cruption?
It’s hard to understand people whith such poor english!
And no, I don’t support any kind of piracy
indonesia need to stop pirating
Look who’s talking! The main supporter of chinese pirated military hardware! 🙂
On a more serious note, first thing Indonesian military should do is buy spares for their planes and weapons for their 4 Flankers. Operational availability was down to 20-30% a couple of years ago. As for the Flankers, they were bought in such a haste, that the contract didn’t include any weapons – later they were out of money for the other 12 Su-30MKs which went to India…
Have you seen this? How it relates to the program, known as Constant Peg?
Constant Peg, as said in the first post of the thread, took place between 1977-1988. (probably using mainly MiG-21/23MS,BN from Egypt)
the 2 MiG-17Fs and the single MiG-21F-13 were part of the HAVE DRILL/DOUGHNUT programs in the late 60’s
So Constant Peg is the follower of these 2 programs. The MiG-21F-13 was returned to the owner (be it Israel (ex-Iraqi) or Indonesia), while the two MiG-17s might have been included later in Constant Peg program.
venezuelan AF first two SU-30MK2
Can’t see ’em
Edit: I do now.
I suppose the USAF general was not that stupid and read the pilot instruction manual at first.
If they had planes it doesn’t necessarily mean that they also had the manuals.
Why deliberately jeopardize a life of a USAF Lt.General like that?
Quote from the site mentioned in my previous post: “The flight was the second of two orientation flights for General Bond.” He was not part of the 4477th TES. Probably the guy WANTED to fly a MiG and used his influence to be granted the 2 orientation flights. Nobody forced him to.
I read here: http://www.f-117a.com/Javaframe.html that he did eject, but at mach2, and his chute got ripped apart
For what particular reason(s) the Chinese rejected the FOXHOUND?
My theorie would be:
1. Lack of flexibility. It’s a pure interceptor with some SEAD capability, if modified accordingly. From the start the Chinese sought a multirole plane. Su-27s and J-11As were SKs, fighters with limited ground attack capability, which will be expanded to guided weapons.
2. High operating costs – after all it’s the child of the gas-guzzling MiG-25.
Even when two pilots died flying MiGs, the Air Force couldn’t disclose the details.
One of the two must have been Gen. Bond killed in 1984 in a (supposedly MiG-23) crash.
so you do not think Chinese plane is more western? so you think J-10 and FC-1 lookl ike MiG 29 and Su-27? SD-10 look like R77?
Gosh, when will you finally get it that it is not about how it looks? Fact is that FC-1 and J-10 use Russian engines now and will use copys of Russian engines in the future. FYI, SD-10 has the seeker copied after the R-77 seeker.
maybe you eat too much children again.
Of curse you couldn’t pass the opportunity to offend yet another member of this forum.
why do all flankers have unpainted/bare metal engines?
Because the heat would scorch any paint. Same thing with the old F-100 (it had a turbojet, which is hotter than a turbofan)
New western fighters have bigger distance between the engines and airframe than the Su-27, so does the MiG-29.

Why don’t you take your ferocious nationalism and personal frustrations to another place? This is an aviation forum, in case you didn’t notice.
This a Mi-24 shot down on 6th October 1995 over former Yugoslavia
A Croatian Mi-24 lost over western Bosnia or Slavonia to be more precise.
It’s a Venezuelan Army Mi-35M
