Serious question. What sort of combat record does the MIG 23 have?
I have heard it shot down the odd hostile civilian 747 but beside killing quite a few of its own pilots did it do much else?
This thread isn’t about the MiG-23 and the KAL 747 was shot down by a Su-15.
I believe the text below the camouflaged MiG-21 bis says it belongs to Republika Srpska (Serbian part of Bosnia), so we’re not talking about an undelivered Zair example. Besides, the 2 delivered were PFMs, not bis. There would be no point in operating two different variants.
flex, by the time Argentina will have Flankers, the 4 RAF fighters stationed at Mount Pleasant will be Typhoons…
Curahee, good job on those Congolese Fishbeds!!!
Though that Cuban MiG-21 is a bis, not a PFM…
After 1982 the brits have always kept a flight of 4 fighters in the Falklands, at Mount Pleasant (Phantoms first and later Tornado ADVs). It’s enough to keep the Argies for a day until the reinforcements come…
Anyway, as I said earlier,
1. we won’t see a capable aircraft in Argentinian service for some time
2. they aren’t so stupid to try once again to take the Falklands by force
This could make “Falklands II” more interesting.
Yeah, Typhoons with Meteor and ASRAAM will make mince meat out of the Flankers – just like Harriers with A-4s and Mirages/Daggers in 82.
Could anyone explain these screen captures? Notice the first one has the logo of a russian TV.
as for Argentina having the cash for it all? Probably.
Are you kidding? The whole country went bankrupt a few years ago.
They can’t even afford to buy their domestic trainer any more (IA-63 Pampa).
Half of the 36 A-4ARs are stored since delivery.
They might have a few bucks for some cheap Hips, but that’s it for the time being.
S-300 PMU2 with 1000 km range? how did they do it?
Just like the 30 km range R-73 and the 160km range R-77 😉
Does the Cheetah also have the 2032?
Yes, the cheetah C (single-seater). The two-seater Cheetah D has the much less capable Elta EL-2001 radar rangefinder.
Of course they carried the full national insignia
What are the calibers/designations/no of barrels of the tail guns on the Blinder and Bear (1x30mm and 4x23mm I guess)? What about the other Soviet bombers (Tu-16, Tu-22M)?
What was the aiming method? Radar? If so why was a need for a rear gunner?
The pictures are from the site mentioned above by MIASCB
maybe WZ-10 model ????
It’s definatly a CGI photoshopped on a real background
