A nice Macedonian Mi-24V – upgraded by Elbit Israel
Nonetheless, I don’t see a useful kill probability above 40km, lofted or not, for any medium sized BVRAAM _put_name_here_.
Meteor, AIM-120D.
Decided to do another big comparison, this time, with helicopter profiles, in wonderful colour.
Impressive.
Minor nit: the Mi-17 is too big compared with the Mi-8/14, when in fact they have roughly the same dimesions.
I’d also like to see in that list the EC-120, EH-101, W-3W Sokol, Kazan Ansat, IAR-317 Airfox, Mi-12, AH-56.
MiG-21 Lancer
🙂 Let’s not forget its ancestor, the classic MiG-21MF
(according to pdf i downloaded from russian sites)
Trust them as much as you trust commercials for soap or pet food.
As for the pylon, it looks too small to accomodate a bomb, perhaps it’s for a laser or EW pod.
Hind wannabe
F-2’s AESA is more of a prototype radar than an operational one – because it was developed so early. Some folks say it has a range of about 40km…
Besides, the larger composite material wings developed cracks.
The engine is a GE, same as the F-16 Block40, yet the F-2 is larger and heavier.
The fact that they decided to stop the program before reaching the number of needed airframes (only 70-80 out of the intended 130) speaks for itself – it’s a failiure.
What about upgrades or stretches?
No streches, but the upgraded C-5M flew recently for the first time. It has more thrust (CF6 engines) and better avionics.
The yellow whatsoever is the SUU-20 practice bomb dispenser. It holds 4 small bomblets which have the same ballistics as the Mk series or the CBUs. Plus it has 4 Hydra unguided rockets. It is used for training purposes.
I suspect the image above is one of Fariboz Shammas’s model kits ?!?
What about inflight shots of Pakistani MiG-19s with Sidewinders? Someone?
🙂
Ciad (ex-Libya) Mi-24
Egypt Alpha Jet with Exocet and Magic
Kuwait Gazelle
Luftwaffe L-39
Syrian An-12
Bolivian T-33 old camo
You can see a CBU which opened up and bomblets begin to spread and another one which is opening now – it’s hidden by the flash of the small charges which break the canister in two.
Another great pic from the same source: The Gambian Su-25 still wearing Georgian AF roundel after delivery

I think it’s a practice run, to show the younger pilots (that possibly didn’t do this before) what to do, if Russia has to send in their bombers with nuclear cruise missiles on the U.S. / Canada, if we successfully intercept their ICBM’s with our missile defense system they’re ranting about lately.
I hope you’re kidding.
You can’t stop 200 MIRVs – and that’s the load of a single Typhoon class sub. NMD is not intended to stop the Russian ICBMs, it’s a safety measure against North Korea and Iran

Hey … I think that base isn’t new and has been shown here … but just a closer look !
Here are the coordinations: 40°23’48.22″N / 99°46’40.38″E Dingxin airbase acting as AWACS test facility within the CFTE
… I just added “some” of the aircraft …. at least 3 more J-10 !!!
Indeed, Dingxin AB was available in high-res before, but now more recent images are uploaded
