Well flex, you’ll be told that you don’t have the sense of humor, just like I’ve been when I tried to bring the discussion back on topic.
For those interested, there is an Iranian advanced trainer/light fighter project called Shafaqh, somewhat similar in shape with the F-18, but much smaller, in the same class as Iak-130, M346 and L-15. A prototype or at least a functional mock-up has been shown some time ago.
Will the upgrade be up to Gr4 standards?
Here’s an interesting account of the use of MiG-17s by NAF, with 4 colour profiles:

Arthur, Brazil already retired its Mirage IIIs (in March 2005 I believe) which were replaced by F-5s until the arrival of the M2000.
That’s a Mi-24VP.
The classic 4 barrel 14.5mm machine gun was trainable, but lacked punch. The later twin 30mm was powerful, but fixed. A compromise was reached in the late 80’s with this Mi-24VP, which had a turret with a twin 23mm gun (Gsh23, same as in MiG-21/23). Only 25 such machines were built before the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Two ex-Botswana Strikemasters were delivered to Ivory Coast in 2003 trough Malta, their pictures are on Airliners.net
Too bad such an interesting subject cannot be discussed seriously. Can’t you leave politics and religion out of this?
As for the duct tape, I bet USAF B-52 relics use it on a regular basis nowdays 😉
Now back ON TOPIC
I don’t think they can carry more than 2, as they are bulkier than the Phoenix and wouldn’t fit under the fuselage (not without scraping the runway at take-off).
What about guidance? SARH, like the Hawk SAM?

That Czech MiG-21 1001, that sure must be one of the original -F or -FL models (which the J-7 is based from). There isn’t a lot of the original Iron Curtain made version of this plane.
There is no Czech MiG-21 1001 in this thread. if you’re reffering to 1003, that’s an early F. AFAIK FLs and PFS were never used in Europe.
LIKA, this one is indeed a MiG-21 F-13, the next variant built after the MiG-21F.
The first pic is not a MiG-21 F-13, but its predecessor, MiG-21 F !!!! , recognizable by the small tail (a very rare bird, built in relatively small numbers from 1959 to 1961; I never knew it got exported).
It also appears, from a slightly different position in post #293 of this thread, by tbzz.
All the bombs in the first pic are M117 warheads, but with different tail assemblys.
The US started recycling them since 1996, so they are no longer in use.
what is the ball in base of fin,its house of drag chute?or IR sensor?
drag chute container fairing. Besides, an IR sensor hat close to the engine would not work – the exhaust heat would blind it.
What is the nose cone like thingy on the Mi-17?
Weather radar.
Also whats the small single engined heli?
Fennec, the military version of the French Ecureuil.
That looks like the Saeqeh prototype, shown some time ago.
here it is, but it’s a bit different from the b/w pic posted by George_nkl
