that mongolian AF roundel is very weathered – originally it was red, the colour used now is yellow
Worthyone, from what AF is the 4th hind in your post? – I don’t recognize the roundel on the tail
Looks like the old well is drying up – just like in the case of the Afghan AF. Has anyone noticed how many pics repeated from page 8-9 of this thread onwards? – way too many.
Otherwise good job lads!
They get the new camo at the periodic overhauls, so they are not painted all at the same time. Furthermore, lots of the pictures allegedly from the ongoing manouvers are in fact older pics published now (F-4 launching Sattar-1, F-14 with Hawk…).
Abut the unknown Hinds which troubled flex and Banshee some posts ago…I think they are Sudanese
-the camo pattern is almost identical – except minor differences on the rear part of the tail
-size, placement, style and colour of the serials is identical
-the visible equipments, antennas are the same
So what do you think? Is it plausible?
There are lots of high-res pics of this event here:

the first 3 pages
Yep, you can also find lots of them at Wonsan (either MiG-17 or chinese-made J-5)
Would anyone have a high resolution version of the first of the following pictures, or a color version of the second?

For the color version of the second you’ll have to wait till I get my hands on a scanner…

So please enlight us with some placemarks or lon/lat info………like this one
Here you go:
No, but I can tell you what I saw on Google Earth:
11 MiG-29
11 Su-22
6 F-5
5 MiG-23 (not used)
2 C-130
3 IL-76
5 An-24/26
24 Mi-8/17
2 Ka-25…32
Surely those MiG-27’s have laser designators built into them.
Yep, in the nose, but AFAIK the russian laser designators work on different wawelenghts than the western ones. maybe they use ground lasers pointed by the troops in the field.
Italian Navy EH-101 & ASM and, of course, some Hueys
This is the only pic that I know of showing Yemen AF Fulcrums – classic ones, not SMTs
AFAIK that German AF Su-20 98+61 was aquired by West Germany from Egypt in 1986, it’s not a former East-German machine, as they had no Su-20s, only Su-22s.
Does anyone know where i can find anymore pictures of SLAF aircraft???
Go here: http://www.aero-image.com/photo_gallery.htm
and scroll to the bottom of the page
They probably work in tandem with spotters flying F-16’s.
What F-16’s? Sri Lanka doesn’t operate any, and Israel retired the Kfir since the 90’s.
