Great shot ot the Pave Hawk in the sun, fantastic. 😀 😀 😀
Definately Cottesmore
Ewan Hoozarmy – Watton isn’t as good as you may remember it, the airfield site is still intact and used regularly by Air Cadet Viking gliders and the runway gets used on occasion on STANTA exercises, but the tech site and hangars are being demolished, the tower has also gone. Watton photos here.
Yak 11 Fan – Lavenham has alot of buildings in use still, the tower is in very good condition as well. You probably see more than I do from the air though!!
There are still alot of complete airfields around, then there are places like Oakington and Upwood that although the runways have gone the tech sites are still complete, but who knows how long for. Swinderby is still fairly intact on the airfield site though much of the domestic site has now gone to make way for a new housing estate, Hemswell has a fairly complete technical site, now very much an antiques centre. Kenley airfield is still very much intact but again most of the hangars and the tower has long gone.
I have photographed loads more here – Airfields & Aviation Memorials
Who owns West Raynham now as I would like to try to arrange access to see the place, if anyone can help please let me know.

Last time I went to Oulton there wasn’t all that much left to see, I have a few photos here;

However, I’d be interested to find out more.

Seems to be happening fairly often doesn’t it, Woodhall Spa was vandalised recently as well. The B@$t@rd$ need shooting, have they no respect at all? The quality of person this country produces in this day and age really is beyond belief.
Hope you had a good day other than finding the memorial like this.

These are some photos I took of Lockheed L-1649A/F Starliner (N974R) at Fantasy of Flight in 2003.

This one is part of a collection I have inherited, I am not sure who took it but on the back of the photo it says it is N974R ex Lufthansa D-ALAN taken at Sanford, Florida on 20th February 1993
Slight conflicting information as there are two different colour schemes as you can see by the photos. If anyone can give me the correct info I’d appreciate it.
Richard
Some great shots there Darren, hard to pick a favourite out of them but I’m going fot the Team Guinot pictures – only because of the girls on the wings!! Looks like you were flying over the home base at Rendcombe at the time??
Richard
I have fianlly got around to getting all the text sorted on each gallery page, please let me know what you think my website, http://www.airfields.fotopic.net/
There have also been a few more additions to some of the galleries and some new airfields have been covered by me as well.
If there are any mistakes they are my fault! If anyone can suggest any other links relevant to a particular gallery / airfield then please let me know.
I hope you all enjoy looking at my site.

Thanks for all you help there folks. really appreciated.

Thanks for the replies, few more questions though!
What is a C-109?
Was Thomas B Carter the pilot?
Wasn’t Snetterton Heath a Flying Fortress base?
Is that 61st a refueling squadron or a bomber squadron?
Thanks again
