    Hi Moggy

Mistake corrected – thanks for that!! I thought borders may have changed or something and some of my references say Norfolk, some say Suffolk!!

I have updated the text on it as well, as I am slowly going through the site to udate links and other bits.

Regarding G-LAZA, I saw it at Knettishall about a year or so ago and thought it was based there. Yesterday I started at Tibenham and saw G-LAZA there, then drove across to Old Buckenham via Carleton Rode to see the memorial there. When I arrived at Old Buckenham it had just landed there! The pilot made an impressive take off leaving Old Buck!

Is there much to see at Knettishall and Methwold still, I think you (or someone else) mentioned a haunted gym at Methwold. Is it accessible to photograph or is it on private land?

I think Air Atlanta did most of the Falklands flights so they may have used it before they retired it.

The Basrah run we did was MOD chartered

This is an aircraft I know well as I worked as crew on her for two years while at European Aviation Air Charter. When EAAC came to an abrupt end in 2004 this aircraft went on to fly for Air Atlanta Europe for another year before being retired to Dunsfold

I have a feeling the Faygate site is owned by aerospace logistics as well.

There are two very knackered harriers at fagate and a jaguar fuselage last time I looked, at charlwood there was two sea harriers and a jaguar that I saw.

I must also add that living near Eye, I find it an extremely rare treat seeing a certain Mustang that isn’t based locally flying around very occasionally!

Thanks for posting the photos, where abouts is the memorial at Matching? It is one airfield I am yet to go out to, is there much there apart from the memorial?

I know it is dragging up a really old thread but I was passing by Ludham recently and the tower looks derelict again. Wasn’t their some idea of restoring it in the past few years? What happened to the plans they had for it? Who owns it now and what future is there for it? With Neatishead down the road you might think that some sort of joint museum / project could work.

A couple of photos I took today are here:

    http://www.airfields.fotopic.net/c1400186_1.html

They show the Boulton Paul panel on one of the doors at City Hall in the centre of Norwich.

I’m hopefully going to get a chance to get up to Mousehold Heath this week so I’ll see whats there then.

Are there any other memorials in Norwich that anyone knows of?

    G-ORDY

Thanks alot for the map / aerial photo, really useful.

It looks like the units in the industrial area were part of the airfield, any ideas what they would have been used for? Were they part of the Bolton Paul works?

    Thanks for the replies folks.

Roger, I’d be interested in seeing a photo of the memorial you mentioned, will you post it up here? otherwise drop me a PM.

Chris, see you tomorrow at East Kirkby!

flyernzl, At the moment my site is only really for UK memorials, though in the future I may look at doing something for overseas airfields and memorials. Depends on my travels really!!
