The first paragraph has to be the most agreed. Seriously, there’s always a critized super hornet from a idiot that thinks it sucks but Super Hornet doesn’t. Probobly he’s mostly agreeing with the people critizing the super hornet.
that was years ago, they critize it beacuse it was the same airframe design, infact McDonnell Douglas were doing a project for a new hornet called “Hornet 2000” . dont worry growler, it’s not the only critized plane, f-35 is the most critized plane in the us arsenal. same as the f-22 it’s critized to. but even Eurofighter pilots admit that the raptor ain’t that good in within visaul range combat and people say the f-22 is a piece of ****.
Even people say its not good in air superiority but can’t think how much stupider they can be
Super Hornets a good air superiority fighter in the US Navy of today, it has superior air superiority capabilites in WVR and BVR and it’s matchable to the Sukhois and MiG’s
people didn’t know it’s air superiority capabilities and never seen how can it preform in air to air. the super hornet has really good air superiority capabilites as i mentioned many times. in within visual range the super hornet has its extensive great maneuverability along with aim-9x, JHMCS, aim-120. in beyond visual range it has the apg-79 radar which will track the enemy at long ranges which super hornet will get the first shot. but dont know when the us will ever get a long range bvr missile.
don’t trust what people say on the internet. you can ask a super hornet engineer or a pilot and they’ll definitely tell you how capable the super hornet is in air to air or in any area your concerned in.
super hornet as of now without the block iii upgrade. super hornet lacks range acceleration and speed. but that will be fixed in 3 or 4 months as of now. but the super hornet lacks the intercepting role and lacks the aim-54 long range missile.
