The Official line from RAF Mildenhall is that the Airshow’s have only been ‘suspended’ and not cancelled, therefore there is always the possibility, however unlikely that they may re start again sometime in the future.
The UK should buy 100 or so SU-34’s, to replace the Tornado GR4.
I suppose the problem would be westernising the avionics e.c.t?
I hope the SU-34 soon appears at RIAT.
Whoops π π π
Strange looking 747
Why is this 747 fitted with B-52 type engine pods and what are the pods on the outer engine pylons? Could they be Air-to-Air Refuelling units, or am I barking up the wrong tree? π
Only a few months ago 80 Future Lynx were to be ordered, now its 70. There was me thinking that the UK armed forces were short of helicopters!!
Oh, sorry, they are but the govt can’t care less.
The Visby Class vessel looks stunning. It’s great to see a country really pushing the boundry of naval technology.
Good point, but if the UK govt gave our armed forces the investment they need we would not be having to cut one force to pay for another.
Galloway should be ‘removed’ via the rear loading loading ramp of a Hercules 1,000ft above the atlantic!

Why the heck is the US being so idiotic?
If only the UK had an aviation industry (plus govt support) which is able to design its own combat aircraft. Think of the export potential of a UK developed aircraft in direct competition with the F-35, the MAJOR difference being that we would let the Israelis, Australians e.c.t do what they want to the aircraft once they have purchased them. Not try and control every tiny detail of what a country does.
The US is obviously very concerned about what they class as βtheirβ technology falling into wrong hands or others tweaking it to their requirements. Itβs a policy, which will (and is) leaving a lot of countries very angry.
I am a freat fan of the US but on this issue they need a damm good kick up the backside and be told to stop being so stupid.
great pics
Do you know why the Typhoon tail’s have either left or right rudder utilised whilst parked? I’ve noticed this before and don’t know why.
UK sources say contingency plans have also been drawn up to cope with the inevitable backlash against the Basra garrison in neighbouring Iraq.
Does that mean a backlash from the Iraqi’s in Basra or does that mean the possibility of iranians forces crossing the border?
Great shots.
What’s your view on the forthcoming privatisation of the UK’s SAR fleet?
so, so sick to see those crowd of cheering b******* π‘
My heart goes out to the true hero’s. Not fooballers, not pop stars but those men and women who put their neck on the line day in day out for the security of this Country and the freedom of Iraq.
