And With good reason..
Why do Russia need a severly compromised VTO Pak-Fa in the first Place?
Not to mention the severly cost spike it would produce. Nah.. Better leave such unsound approach to other Airforces/Navys 🙂
If Russia needs a VTO fighter I think the best option would be to design a VTO fighter from the start instead of a VTO PAK-FA, and anyway it would ruin the PAK-FAs good looks.
Why have the Indians knocked back maneuverability over stealth with the FGFA, I thought that to win in a one on one dogfight you would have to have some sort of super-maneuverability to win.
The really ugly conformal fuel tanks on F-CK-1 :
They really are ugly, they make the conformal fuel tanks of the F-16 Blocks 52/60 and even the Advanced Hornet look much more pleasing to the eye.
Looks more like the Storm Shadow than JASSM on size and general shape.
I have so many favorites that I have to put them all in different categories. But there is one plane that I like above all others then it is probably the mighty SR-71A Blackbird. then possibly the F-117A Nighthawk.
I think that Iran would probably go for the J-20 or the J-31 if ever the sanctions were lifted, if not they could design their own fighter and make a better job of it than their last effort.
Or me.
No, the Japanese Constitution says no such thing.
The “no military exports” is a governmental policy, with support from laws that are NOT part of the Constitution.
Here is a link to the complete text of the Japanese Constitution, for you to read for yourselves, so you won’t embarrass yourselves again:
http://www.kantei.go.jp/foreign/constitution_and_government_of_japan/constitution_e.html
So that clears that up!
Japanese constitution forbids export of any arms.
Thanks for that. A great shame! Were the Japanese not going to modify their constitution for something?
Anyone know whether the P-1 or C-1 will be available for export? Would seem to me that it would be a waste of time and money for Japan to have created them and not allowed them for export.
Well this is a Su-27 variant with a UPAZ-1A Sakhalin pod mounted:
The Chinese could have a new air-air refueling pod that is based on the UPAZ – 1A. Because looking at the photo that is what it looks like.
Well in relation to the UK requirement for a bomber, the whole thing goes back to FOAS. FLA and Cruise missiles were considered back then and nothing came of it.
Well actually, what came of it was an advanced UCAV development programme that is about to bare public fruit.
If it is any help, Taranis looks a bit like a Vulcan if you squint….
I remember at one stage during the 1990s that FOAS was supposed to replace the Tornado GR-1 with a Stealth aircraft, I don’t know if it was capable of carrying Cruise Missiles (Storm Shadow)? But the whole program was scrapped during the early part of last decade in when the JSF/F-35 was selected as a potential Tornado replacement.
The USAF needs an aircraft like the Scorpion to replace the A-10C. Anyone know how much a single wing of Scorpion’s would cost to operate?
Not with the Aircraft Carriers being built and the current submarines already in service, having a tri-service defense system would be a waste of money.
It will be a bad mistake if the USAF goes ahead and scraps the A-10, F-15C not too sure about KC-10 tanker? How old is the KC-10 in USAF service?
Will the Iraqi Mi-28ME feature the Millimeter wave radar? as far as I know the Russian Mi-28Ms don’t yet have that capability.
