Thanks for that information QuantumFX.
I am curious about the stores on the inner hardpoints of the JH-7 on the bottom picture anyone got any ideas as to what they are?
I was undecided whether to post this in this thread.
This was posted in the secretprojects website, and is a windtunnel model from the official TSAGI website.
Although there is nothing linking it to the Su-57 programme, it does share basic aerodynamic features.
Is that a single engine?
Thoughts?
Hard to tell wilhelm, with the twin air intakes it looks like a twin engined design, in keeping with the Su-57 itself.
Thanks for the info Marcellogo, the idea of a smart skin sounds interesting. I cannot wait to see what comes of this new version of the Su-57.
Article says that they launched a project as late as 2014 to produce a composite “smart skin” with embedded fiber-optic circuits and so on, and that Sukhoi started prototyping a new wing in 2018. That says a lot, in my opinion. This aircraft is still far from finished.
I find it strange that Sukhoi have started prototyping a new wing this year, what was wrong with the old wing?
Sino X-31! J-10B Zhuhai rehearsals (Powered by WS-10B with an all-aspect 3D TVC nozzle)
Nice find QuantumFX, all we need now is for the video to turn up on YouTube.
[QUOTE
It beggars belief that these aircraft were not moved beforehand. Someone should bear responsibility for this.

My thoughts too St John, who ever was responsible for this should get either demoted or the sack when they find out the damage to the F-22’s.
It is the first time that I have seen a Su-35 with a pair of R-37’s, and featuring air to ground missiles too. 😎
In that case there is still time for Lockheed to protest. Watch this space.
If Lockheed were going to protest the result of the T-X program, then they should have started it as soon as the award was given to Boeing.
Glad the prettyest won
You are not wrong there Sintra, I was supporting the Boeing design right from the first time I saw images of it in this forum.
Just seen on Flight Global about Boeing winning the T-X program, well done. I think it was the right choice for the USAF.
The T-X contract could be announced as early as COB this Friday…
That is great news bring_it_on, I for one cannot wait for the result to be announced.:eagerness:
Is there any exact known date as to when the Royal Navy F-35B Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier deck trials will start? All I have heard is that they are scheduled to start some time this week?
Heads up at the Zhuhai International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition 2018, planned for 6-11 Nov’18. The new version of the Z-10 attack helicopter will be showed!
Will this new version carry the Milimetric Wave radar? Or is that for another future variant of the Z-10?
