So how many more PAK-FA T-50 prototypes will fly before we start to see series production starting?
^^ouch…
UPD: Here is the same photo in higher res.
Looking good. 😎
Pratt & Whitney is producing a new variant of the TJ-150 engine for Spear.

Strange that Pratt & Whitney are producing an jet engine for Spear 3, I would have thought that Rolls Royce would have been considered for the design.
Lets hope that they go with the Spear 3. Any ideas as to what technology’s would be included in Spear 3 over the SDB 2?
Any word on how many Spear 3s the UK will purchase? I am glad that the UK has gone with the Spear 3.
Interesting:
Interesting photo’s TR1, especially the bottom one which clearly shows the wing pivot mechanism for the variable geometry wings. Also are the Tu-160s in the photo’s new builds or are they upgrades?
No doubt it will be a very interesting program, I for one cannot wait for it.
I could be wrong but does the Mig-35 have enlargen air intakes?

The air intakes do certainly look larger than the classic MiG-29s air intakes from what I can see, we need a photo taken from the front just to make sure. But does this mean a more powerful engine?
Supposedly T-50 has done testfire of a missile from internal bay.
Source, listening to the interview now; http://radiovesti.ru/audio/253/242.mp3
The interview is with Mikhailov, VVS commander between 2002 and 2007. Yes, he is the one that made the infamous “Mach 2.15 reduction to Mach 2” quote re T-50. He mentioned the testfiring happened “day before last” (@17.30min) ie on 16’th. What frame i wonder, T-50-3, -4 or 5R? 😀 The man has 4000+ hours in Su-7/MiG-21 alone; it is a miracle he is still alive…
What sort of missile was it that the PAK-FA launched? R-73 or R-77? Great news for the PAK-FA program.
USAF has one chance to get the right airplane. Their next chance might not occur for another 30 years. They will go for the airplane with the most capability. This means big payload and long range. A B-47 won’t do when a B-52 can be had.
I hope that the USAF hold an other bomber competition in the not too distant future to replace both the B-2 and B-52 with a bomber that has the Stealth of the B-2 and the payload capability of the B-52.

An interesting picture MSphere, I did not know that the Germans had that capability for their Tornadoes.
I suppose there is only so much that you can do design wise to a flying wing stealth bomber.
I like the B-21 designation, at least it was not going to be B-3.
Quite right too. As I shall be doing shortly with my copy of Ace of Spades.
