I remember Boeing doing sarcastic comments when Airbus announced some delays in the A380 test flights.
Yes, I remember them too:

Without question the A380 is a great engineering and industrial achievement. We congratulate Airbus on reaching this significant milestone. The people who designed it and put it together should be proud.

But regardless of our differences in philosophies, thereβs no doubt that a tip of the hat is in order to Airbus on this milestone. We also salute Singapore Airlines, a great customer of ours and a leader in commercial aviation. Congratulations on a big delivery.
Seriously though, I’d be interested to see the comments you infer, because I dont recall seeing such in public at least. π
Here’s a couple of shots of the 747-8 line I took last week.
Excellent piece by the ST:

Review of the Boeing second quarter earnings call can be located here too.
I wonder how far back the 787 schedule will be when they reveal it later on this quarter.
ANA sure has some patience threshold! π
More here from Randy’s Journal:

Heres you 2 free tickets and you’re P45 goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel really sorry for the staff who are going to lose their jobs and have been mislead By the egotistic SRB he can not be trusted whats so ever
You may be onto something here – take a look at this commentary:

No wonder VS is performing a “u-turn” so quickly after boasting about profits π
The money men seem inclined to disagree.
I have the report in full if anyone is interested (although cant send to too many!)
Actually, its my good colleague Heidi Wood who wrote that, and she’s obviously not a money man. Money woman perhaps π
Boeing officially announced another 2-3 month delay on first flight and subsequently deliveries.
No they didnt.

They gave no guidance at all. That is yet to follow. π
I wouldnt be surprised if these replace the deferred A340-600’s VS no longer wanted.
Cant be much of a net “gain” for either party except perhaps for engine makers.
25 787 orders lost Boeing confirms.

Twins lose half of their thrust when one engine fails. Quads lose only one quarter. True, twins have more powerful all-engine thrust to compensate for this; but there is a perception that twins do not compensate completely, and that they have worse performance in restricted, hot and high airports.
Gotcha – thanks for the clarification.
Interestingly, it is said that
Aeromexico flies 777-200ER.
What would be the MTOW and range of 777-200LR out of Benito Juarez Airport? What about A340-600 (quads have better one-engine out behaviour, and Iberia flies them out of Mexico, as well as Quito where they crashed one), or A340-500HGW, or A380-800?
More scandalous reporting from Flight, or should I say “Fright” Global:
“Originally we were scheduled to receive the first one in 2010 and we were going to complete the transition [from 767s to 787s] in 2012,” he says. “With the new calendar we’ll probably complete the transition by 2014.”
Aeromexico will not get 787’s anytime soon. Weight improvements from Line #20 are already in production and will (hopefully) not affect the 787’s they take delivery of later. So why they are “worried” is strange – its not as if they’re gonna take delivery of the first few heavier 787-8’s anyway. Weight improvements happen continuously through every airplane’s life…
Only the first 19 787’s will have to be retro-fitted with weight improvement packages – very disingenuous of “Fright Global” to have left that out of its article.
777-200LR is too large for AM’s needs (as the article states), however, with a lower seat count, it could probably do MEX-“Somewhere in Asia” handsomely.
Could you please expand on this chornedsnorkack?
…quads have better one-engine out behaviour…
On the subject of twin engine freighters, Aviation Week has a good article on the Airbus’ plans for its freighter line-up.
Just out of interest, FBEDCOM, do you plan to actually take part in the discussions on this site or do you just intend to post links to your own blog?
GA
Yes I will, but at present I dont have time to do that (due to other commitments). But rest assured, yes I fully intend to participate hence my joining this site.
I think its one of the best sites for aviation material I an certainly enjoy reading the swathe of threads/details it has π
