The script wasn’t the greatest, especially with Menalaus, Agamemmnon, etc.. the acting varied fair to good depending on character.. but I found Bana to be pretty good as Hector.
As for accuracy.. well I really had strong doubts that the decade long Iliad could be summarized into one hours, especially since the Trojan wars in most versions, lasted for years and had numerous “in-between” elements. However for a nearly 3 hour movie it was quite entertaining, especially the fights.
The F-15 Active is the closest thing

although it uses a 3-d nozzle.
how much bigger will this helicopter be in comparison to the EH-101?
In what ways is the F-15C better looking than the F-15A? Just curious.
what, you don’t know? people find that aircraft starting with serial numbers 78+ are automatically better looking than aircraft below :p
Edisonone, are you related to Haley?
same person, he said so himself that Edisonone is Haley’s original user name
Thanks Phantom. The cockpit certainly doesn’t look like it could hold 3 people, so I was wondering where the 3rd person would sit.
do you have pictures of the cockpit? I’m really interested into seeing whether there’s enough room in that cockpit for 3 crewmembers
I remember reading that Kazakhstan only has about 5.
I recalled that they had around 20 when the Soviet Union broke apart, then there was a deal with Russia where they traded several systems back to Russia and got more Flankers in exchange. Here’s an article:
“A further four Su-27 fighters were handed over to the Kazakhstan Air Force by Russia on January 25. The aircraft will be followed by a further 12 Su-27s and the Flankers will be used to reinforce air defence of the Kazakh capital, Astana. Delivery of a total of 32 Su-27s to Kazakhstan under a previous deal with Russia (Airscene, December 1997, p326) commenced in 1997. These new deliveries were negotiated for under a later accord agreed on December 22-23, 1998, when the Russian Prime Minister visited Kazakhstan. Under the latest agreement, as compensation for 12 strategic bombers and two helicopters turned over to Moscow by Kazakhstan in 1992, Russia will deliver the Su-27s, two unspecified military transport aircraft and an S-300 air defence system. It is not certain however whether all of the original 32 Su-27s were delivered and the ‘additional’ aircraft may in fact be the remainder of those originally due for delivery.”

To add in some numbers,
Kazakhstan has at least 54 Su-27s
and Uzbekistan has somewhere between 20-30
Crobato, Elp.
After reading on your views on specializatoin versus “joint”, multi-role, etc.
Do you both feel that the Swedes got it right with the Viggen, seeing as how it was essentially the same airframe (or at least similar).. that had multiple models specialized for certain roles?
perhaps it is the rafale? it looks too much like it.
photoshopped flag and chinese characters.
In regards to the Golden Eagle, what primarily limits its potential market is not it’s capability/cost but rather the heavy American influence and input into the design which would draw in numerous political implications into purchasing it.
Now here are some factors for the Golden Eagle and costs versus an old used F-16.
-The structure and airframe of the F-16 is not the best in the world, one can simply read what Arthur has to say about it 😉
-Most air forces that use it are either 1) have used it heavily and needs major rehauls (i.e Belgium, etc).. or 2) is the “top” fighter of the air force and are likely not willing to do with out
-The Golden Eagle, when purchased is a NEW airframe
-A single F404 engine will obviously consume less fuel than a single F110, as evident by the Gripen’s low operating costs which Golden Dragon has kindly posted up. not to mention that a single engine generally uses less fuel than two engines (ala F-5E and Ching Kuo)
-most of the Golden Eagle’s parts are off the shelf and STILL in production! thus cost-saving in the effect that the components already used are proven.. and also the fact that it’s still in production, unlike many parts for the F-5
-The A-50 and F-50, which the former exists and is flying and the latter will be due soon, are intended to use AMRAAM..
now.. for everyone else not willing to deal with the US influence of the project, there’s the FC-1 🙂 , which Golden Dragon or Crobato would be better off explaining.
Also, according to Flug-Revue and ACIG sources, A-50 will be about 22 million.. slightly less than the cheapest (and earliest) block F-16 sold.
some pics from afbase.
A-50
F-50 model
good gawd.. can’t believe you got the information for that country! I hope you do the “Stans” next 😀
I made a typo, Im sure youre aware that the FC-1 has the same engine as the mig-29.
no problem then.
