Is it me or does the L-15 look pretty damn good? Looks like it could be a serious challenger to both the FC-1 and FTC-2000, should they ever fully develop it’s potential. What do they intend to power it with? I’m surprised they chose a two engine air frame

More significant are what may follow, it said and quoted an unnamed US official as saying that “US plans for expanding cooperation with India in the area of high technology and defence goods have been made more difficult by India’s trade with Iran.”

“A US trade official said the technology dialogue with India has produced assurances that New Delhi will not provide weapons-related technology to Iran. Also, the government has agreed to allow a US export control official to be posted at the US embassy in New Delhi to monitor sensitive US technology transfers.

“The official said the two scientists’ activities did not appear to be sanctioned by the Indian government. There are problems and we’re trying to address them in our dialogue,” the paper said

What does India sell to Iran?

Why not, otherwise a real start of Su-35 production, when the Russian AF stayed with modified Su-27 to SM. No Canards, no TVC, but AL31F-M* and avionik package (N001 M radar) similar of MKK from KnAAPO.
The new SU-35BM from Sukhoi is based on Su-27, without Canards, Irbis radar and AL-41F. Model seen at Dubai Airshow Dec 2003.

    Isn’t this the Su-30UB?

Square tipped fins like the Knaapo Su-30MKK, Canards like the Su-35/30MKI, and tandem seating.

I think Singtao is one of the more better and neutral newspaper in Hong Kong, of course it’s not with out it’s flaws. Just read one this morning. It is much better than other HK papers like Apple.

umm AFAIR the production variant already flew and it is going into slow scale production, it must’ve been tested with weapons.

Just because a production variant flew doesn’t mean it’s already tested with weapons, the Typhoon has several production variants and it’s testing is still not complete.

Ok, remember where I said Yak-130 performed better than Su-25….

It would be more interesting to see how they came to that conclusion, the article is rather vague and simply stated the conclusion but not how exactly it is superior (although it is probably likely they were unable to attain that information). Furthermore the sole “armed variant” the Yak-130D has not actually begun tests with the weapons it is often displayed with. If you are able to find a more detailed report, please post them here.

The Shafagh is (or supposed to be) a trainer, not a fighter.

that model is the single seater.

The J/F-7MF model, nothing more is shown, reminds me on something from 1962. 🙂

I gotta admit, that’s a good looking aircraft! Infact probably the best MiG-21 based aircraft I’ve seen.

Well it is a twin seat and also has a toilet in the back, but what big advantages does it really offer over standard Flankers which can be effectively used as fighters?

I read that the intakes are “simpler” in design so there is probably some different air flow issues between the Su-34 and the Su-3X, unfortunately I can’t find where I put my Flanker book by Gordon, so I can’t tell you what page it is on.

However the fact that it has a toilet and the cabin is tall enough for people to stand up in, definitely helps psychologically.

From that angle it looks like the J-10 to me, with a two gray color scheme, reminding me of what Pakistan normally paints their aircraft.

Srbin- Youll notice most the countrys that have bought the Su-25/39 are african countrys that fight non-mechanized insurgents or border conflicts.

Su-25/39 operators: Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Peru, Russia, Slovakia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Wow that’s alot of African countries, especially North Korea

Speaking of deteriorating relations with the US, Bush has just slapped an economic sanction on them
