They are so poor? Lazerev compeleted in 1984. Is not an old ship. Is there any possibility to be modernized?

I wonder why Trumpeter doesn’t produce the kirov series and the slavas in 1/350? 1/700 is too small. What will be happen with the Varuag second carrier? Chinese have a ready carrier!! They should put it into service with the PLAN. Does any one has recent information?

Arsenal Ship was not battlecruiser sized. It was MUCH smaller than that.

My “friend” sferrin I didn’t metioned the DD(X) but the arcenal ship. Even the DDX has 14000t tonnage and -I don’t know why they call it “destroyer”- was created as much smaller succesor of the arcenal ship.

This ship is more than 30000t

Its a shame is “Admiral Lazarev” being scrapped, The russian navy must maintain at least for 15 years 3 Kirovs, (VELIKI, modernized NAKHIMOV & LAZAREV) nad four slavas (MOSKVA, USTINOV, BARIAG, and the newest LOBOV”, Ushakov should be scrapped of mutch better to preserved as museum ship. These seven cruisers are the only ships of russian navy which have area defence capability, (100km) due to S-300s, I can’t understand why some members said that the russian navy doesn’t need them . Further more the slavas are Gas turbined as well as Udaloys and can be used for “saw the flag” operations.

Before all these fightings with sferrin, someone metioned about a project 1293 strike cruiser nuclear powered alternative to slava I think that this is what we talk about.

Pakistan’s philosophy is tomahawk style India’s philoshophy is Yakhont style, (the small brother of Granit) Both of the for land attack duties.

Radar, i made comparison between the two missiles because is easy tomahawk to be antiship missile and Granit land attack missile. Both are cruise missiles and just look how Yakhon as India vesion BrahMos received land attack capabilities. Babur vs BrahMos

The arsenal ship was closest in concept to a monitor, not a cruiser or battleship, it was just a floating battery with very limited capabilities beyond it’s prime role of missile bombardment.

You are right I just made a comparizon having in mind only the tonnaze, and size.

The Arsenal Ship was never considered as a Kirov analog. It was pretty much just a barge with VLS cells on it. There was something called a Strike Cruiser but as I recall it was much larger than the Virginia class at around 16,000tons. As for the rest of your post it sounds like you need to ease up on the caffiene.

G.W.Bush-Sferrin, Didn’t say that are the same thing but the arsenal ship was to be more close to kirovs western counterparts, due to their size the arsenals were actualy BBGs (guided missile battleships), and I said that at my point of view is better to have 40 nuclear supercruisers with unlimited range than 70 Burges. Why burges are termed as destroyers? They are actually cruisers. Virginias were very ballanced ships. Ticos have problems with their stability as hulls due to their spruance style huge superstucture. I wish “Admiral Lazarev” to join as flag ship again the pacific fleet.
