Are you administrator? I have to take this as threat? Anyway only one nick I have. And I participate here in warfare.ru and in other one forum, so I participate in 3 forums not in 12. This topic has to do with Russian navy, and the armed forces as the navy are closely connected with the political decisions and political issues. A president who come from armed forces, or from secret services, will spend much more for defence issues than a liberal president. That is what I say nothing more nothing less. As for Kirovs the facts clearly prooves what I say.
1. Kirov and Admiral Lazarev are dead meat.
2. The modernization process has not started yet in “Admiral Nakhimov” and no one knows anything about what is gonna happen. So the vessel is getting older and older, and very soon it will be more preferable to scapp it than to modernize it.
3. The last one “Pyotr Veliki” is not participate in the navy’s mission why? It is because is not operational anymore?
That is my point of view. Am I CLEAR?

BREZHNEVIn fact P-1000 is an upgreated P-500 Bazalt with extended range, 700km. Both of them are NOT universal weapons, and in contrast with Granit they could be fired ONLY from surface. The development of Granit started only for this reason. To create a univesal weapon. Note that Echo IIs fired their missiles only from the surface acting as Surface combatands.
BREZHNEVIt not supposed to be. This image is from the Kirov herself, not from the class. All other, Frunze, Kalinin and Petr Velikiy all varies from each others by various systemfits. All other have AK-130 in place of the two AK-100 and Kalinin and Petr Velikiy substitutes AK-630s with Kortiks.

I wish to see the “modernized” Admiral Nakhimov, with new radars, and new launchers. Unfortunatelly the new prezident which is Ultra liberal, Dmitry Medvedev has decided to scrapp all Kirov class cruisers. The Kirov has been already scrapped in sevmash. Also as I know Medvedev wants to cansell the modernization of Nakhimov. So we will never see these beatyfull vessels in the sea anymore, the only thing I pray for it is to see the in 1/350 scale from Trumpeter.

BREZHNEVI know very well that Udaloys are ASW vessels I am not dump:mad: But as I said before there is no vessel with AAW capability. It is the same as a Nimitz class carrier would be escorted only by Knox ASW frigates or Spruance class DDs. I want to ask why the CbG doesnt have even a single sovremmenyy. The only AAW protection of the battle group is the Kinzal SA n-9 missile system. Is the same thing as the US typical CbG was protected only from sea sparrow missiles in MK-29 launchers. Do you imagine the US carrier group without SM2/3 missiles? As for Admiral Nakhimov I want to ask if anybody knows what kind of new missiles will carry if finally be modernized, and when will renter in service.

The Russian surface fleet is dead, and is a stupitidy when you try to replace surface units like kirovs and Slavas with corvettes like the 20380s. I love Russian navy and because of that I want to see the reality. Now the Russian navy is a comedy. Admiral Kuznetsov is being escorded by 2 Udaloys and Kuznetsov has 192 Kinzal SA N 9 missiles and each Udaloy has 64 Kinzal missiles not to mension the 8 Kastan CIWS that Kuznetsov has. So my point is that the aircraft carrier has better AAW capability than the escord vessels!!!!!:eek: 😮 😮 Is like the Nimitz class to have better AAW capability thant the Ticos and the Burges. Also in Russian navy the officials are crazy. They modernize the Ocakov which is a Kara class ASW cruiser 35 years old and they leave Lazarev a Kirov class cruiser to rust and die. Lazarev entered in service in 1984 and Ocakov in 1969!! S o the navy modernize an acient vessel and scrapp a much better and much more capable vessel. This is paranormal. The nuclear powered vessels have up to 40 years life, note that The Enterprize which entered in service in 1961 is steel in service, as for PtG, why the Russian navy dont refuel it and send it to the mission???, is a simple question. Is much more economical to send a nuclear powered vessel to such missions than a conversional. Imagine how much oil Kuznetsov and the 2 Udaloys needs for 71 days voyage, so my propose is Lets be serious…
BREZHNEVTo Rickusn: Unfortunaly the Russian surface fleet is very small. How many Sovremmenyys are in service? The Gremyashchy is originaly the Bezudershy (406), and she took the name of other Sovremmenyy class destroyer wich decomicioned before 2 weeks. Now the Nothern fleet has only 2 Sovremmenyys.

Without sovs, the surface fleet loses all its antiship capability which is limited only to 5 vessels , 3 Slavas, Kuznetsov, and Pyotr Veliki. Now the navy has only 5 Sovremmenys. 2 in Nothern Fleet, 1 in Pacific, and 2 in Baltic. Also I want to say that don’t trust the warfare.ru as source, because is a little bit unaccurate. Also the Kirov of Pacific the Lazarev is in Terribly condition and soon will be scrapped.

As for Admiral Nakhimov warfare.ru sais that will reenter in the fleet in 2007-2008 period, and this is not true, because the modernization process has not started yet!! and of cource nobody knows what kind of modernization will be . Do you know anything about that? The only thing I know is :

I am curious why “Pyotr Veliki” didn’t participate in this mission. Has any problem with the reactor? Note that in the naval mission of 2004 she participated, but now they picked only “Mosckva” of Slava class.
Also what happens with the modernization of “Admiral Nakhimov”, why is so delayed? Do we know what will be the new missiles that will replace Granits?
Also I want to ask about the first of the class the “Admiral Ushakov”, I ve seen some photos of 1998, at the naval base with Ushakov and Pyotr Veliki at the same port and Ushakov to be operational, so why they decommicioned it?
Finally what will happen with “Admiral Lazarev” the second of the class?

BREZHNEVActually the russian military is rising from the death, there is a lot of money today, the problem is how to spend it effectivly. Since oil and metall prices probably will never fall again, i see quite a good future for the russian navy. It also helps that most of the polititians in russia are from petersburg.
Yes, but the navy is completly dead, except the corvet program nothing else is being done for the surface fleet. If Admiral Nakhimov will be a “trial and testing vessel” the navy will have only 1 kirov (Pyotr Veliki). Without Kirovs the Russian surface fleet have no importance. Only a massive naval programm of new destroyers, will revive the navy.
BREZHNEVFormally speaking, she is still in fleet service – meaning that she’s flying the naval jack and not the state flag, i.e. she’s not been formally handed in to the yard yet. Before the completion of the overhaul, she’ll get the state flag (“industry/yard trials”), she’ll pass through preliminary trials, then state trials, and only then enter fleet service again. I know, I’m splitting hairs here… :diablo:
My estimation is more 2016-17, because she’ll supposed to become some kind of trial ship for a lot of systems (partly of strategic significance – note, I wrote significance, not importance, so no ICBMs 😀 ) that are still being developed, and because 2015 is some kind of “magic deadline” for the Russian MoD at the moment, as it is the limit planning date of the current rearmament programme. But she’ll kiss the waves again in any case, that’s for sure.
By this you mean land attack cruise missiles like the kh-101? Also is possible for Pyotr Veliki to be modernized at this way too?

As I read the modernization will be finished in 2015, due to lack of money. I want to ask what it means “improved Granits” ? Longer range? Land attack capability? I want to ask if is possible for Nakhimov to carry land attack missiles in the future. Also is any possibility for Russian navy to develop a new class of DDG equal to US Arleigh Burge? Finally Granit or Tomahawk is more powerfull missile no matter the antiship or land attack capability.
