If it’s aircraft flying…. forget it 😮
If it’s static aircraft and general shots of the family it’ll be fine.
15x zoom , 3x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom
Forget any digital zoom, it’s crap, it’ll pixelate (make blocky) any picture.
The 15x zoom is just the 3x optical multiplied by the 5x digital, and like I said, forget any digital zoom.
Concentrate on optical zoom only, the more the merrier, and 3x optical ain’t no good for aircraft flying, you really need 10x optical at least.
Check out something like the Fuji S5600
Great set of shots Glenn 😉
I love the rapide shot, great angle, nice sky, did u use a polariser?
Is the last one an Extra/Cap/Edge ?
You were obviously taking it easy, spending much time laying down :p
I’m glad I’ve found some of your posts again since my provider dropped usenet(bless ’em 😡 )!
Jim Luke of 6 Sqn was the pilot.
Hi BigVern, I was told on another forum 😮 that the pilot was Wing Commander Blake.
I don’t want to start any flaming, but I’d like to get the correct info rather than stick my foot in it with someone 😉
Are you positive that it was Jim Luke?
I’d like to get the info right for my website.
I agree Damien, This Jag and the other “tailed” Jags should end up in museums, they’re part of history now! There are no more active RAF “Battle Of Britain” era airfields left now, it’s a shame that Colt’s runways will probably get ripped up to be used as hardcore!
Cheers
Andy
Thanks for the comments peeps.
I’m sure Coltishall will be missed by many, including me!
Steve is a guy whome I’d never met and never spoken to.
Judging by what the other guys have said, I have missed out severely!
I have a son of about Haydn’s age, and it make you realise how delicate life can be.
I promised my son that I’d take him flying one day. I’m gonna make that day soon! And make the effort to be half the man that Steve was.
I wish I could have met you Steve.
My condolences to Haydn, Julie and all Steve’s Family and Friends.
R.I.P.

There was a Casa 2-111 (He111) at duxford sitting on the grass just east of hangar 1. This was a couple of years ago and I believe it was owned by the OFMC. This Casa had no engines or outer wings (poss in storage) but looked quite complete and capable of being restored to flying condition. I don’t know if it’s still at Duxford or whether it’s moved on.
How about an r/c model Mossie ?
🙂
Wow, great shots from the air!
Next time you’re over Lowestoft could you get a shot of my house? 😉
lol

The Shuttleworth Sea Hurricane at Duxford Flying Legends in July ’04
This shot of RR299 was taken at Duxford Flying Legends in either 94 or 95

I might try to get there if……
A: Weather is good.
B: SHMBO lets me 😉
