That is brilliant Don. Once again many thanks.
My mum, 94 years young,(uncle Arthur’s sister) would also like to thank you all so much. She went to Buckingham palace with him and can be seen in the background holding my sister but she never knew the exact details of his service or the background to the award of the medal.

Many thanks to everyone (especially Don & Jim) for all the leads to go on. Unfortunately the original log has disappeared but this will keep me busy and I am already filled with such admiration for all who served their country.

P.S Does the insignia, on the photo, behind the crew G LM42? mean anything to anyone?
