I missed the incident by 2 minutes but heard the backfire/crunch of the collision as I walked along the access lane. Two of my friends who did witness, both described the aircraft hitting a bump, bouncing and hardly climbing away. I would add that there was a cross wind component that built up as the the afternoon heat increased, not saying that it had an influence though.
Strange to be within a collection of photos from the 1960s. They do however, look in excellent condition which could indicate the photo might have been taken earlier than this?
Where in Dunstable did the bomb land?
I once saw it flying over Dunstable in Bedfordshire – I took a photograph and the slide frame is dated July 1973, which gives a very approximate date. I saw it again at the International Air Tattoo in 1979. The serial, incidentally, was N2A.
Here it is over Waterlow Road in Dunstable. Found this image recently within an old family collection of photos.

Thanks Lee.
PJ is at Lasham and has been for a long time.
What happened to the Little Rissington half a dozen or so?
Excellently organised day out, I and Busterette had a fabulous time. The smell of hydraulic fluid, oil and Jet A1 took me back to my youth!
This also brought back a few memories yesterday!

Said aircraft is now naked on the port side and was today doing high power engine runs.
If you are a member of Farnborough Proboards you can view the images on the Hurn thread.
Is that all? Last time I went was 2003, looking at the programme, where have the ‘Legends’ gone! Certainly not worth a VIP Gold Pass to see that 10 years on!
Now fitted with four engines and props.
