After seeing this thread late Friday night I ordered a set of the Memphis Belle decals.

Arrived this morning at 10:30ish and wow what a decal set. Nice graphics of a fantastic subject matter.

As a thought what about some decals of the other B-17’s, the Buchons, Mustangs and then also the B-25 & Avenger camera ships ?

I also agree completely about BoB Film, Catch 22 & Hanover Street subjects.

How about a complete history of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight ?

    Regards

It has to be the Tardis for me in one of its many guises.

Runners up would be Thunderbird 2, Original BSG Vipers and Stingray.

    Love the sellers pitch

“It unusually had 2 seats, I have not found another plane of the same model which had 2 seats”

I think maybe your thinking about this the wrong way.

I would have thought the number of aircraft owners that would allow someone to take moulds from their airframe unless you were a big film company with a sizeable budget to make it worth their while would have been few to zero.

Maybe this series of videos would be of interest to you. Certainy if you consider that there is a multitude of very very good scale drawings around to kick start you on your way.

Just an additional thought kit car homebuild body shells can be built in a way not a million miles from this, see below.

Sadly I never met DB I only knew him as many others would have done which was through the various magazines he contributed to.

Over the years he came up with some wonderful plans of scale or semi scale subjects. Over the years I made a couple of his plans and have collected many others for that rainy day which so far has yet to come. His articles were as others have said an inspiration.

My thoughts are with friends and family.

    Ben,

There might be more money to be made in producing models in an EDF format.

Although the models may possibly be smaller in physical dimensions (Although not a given) the initial outlay to yourself could be reduced. BUT as they would be more affordable to the customer (maybe in terms of the kit your selling and also the powerplant choice) along with the fact that EDF seems to be one of the biggest growth areas in the hobby of recent years you may actually sell more as a result.

My advice would be to get Electric Flight Magazine and drop a line to Chris Golds. A most helpful chap.
