Many thanks for the above comments.
I have been told that the IPMS magazine had some scale drawings in the 1990’s and still looking for those. Failing that I’m trying a set if contour gauges on the kit rather than cutting it up. If it works cheaper than the resin nose set which is another option.
While we’re on the subject, does anyone have a copy of the Aeroplane Monthly article on the OFMC Buchon, from about July 1998, that they could scan and send to me?
I’ve ordered an Airfix Bf109G and I fancy doing it in a similar scheme to G-BOML…!
I’ve a copy of the article if your still looking ?
I’m sure it’s been discussed before but who designed the colour scheme for ” Miss Demeanour”?

How about the obligatory game of “spot the stiff” ?
Cool project! Looks like it needs lots of work. What’s the cause of the damage?

The ex Source Venoms ?
I’ve seen ZD992 close up and I had no idea what a mess they started with. James in hindsight was perhaps a little modest in his description of the work they did.
Forgot to add them as people I have tried.
Matt emailed me back saying that they didnt have that info so their airframe coudn’t be relied on to be correct.
I am a huge fan of the Reds so please don’t take my question to be fuelling the argument for the team to be axed
Whenever the subject of disbandment arises one of the arguments for keeping them is always that industry pays a large portion of their running costs. Can anyone confirm that this is the case and to what extent the costs are subsidised. I have heard that tours are subsidised/paid for if they are full filling a specific industry request but what about a season where they remain in the UK other than a couple of overseas dates ?
Personally I think the Red Arrows like the Spitfire and Concorde are the few recognisable aircraft that are appreciated by the non aviation orientated members of joe public UK. Whether they inspire our youth to join the armed forces, fill a nation with pride or act as ambassadors for the country or UK industry I think its money well spent.
It was discussed here on the forum last year.

Has it been taken over or is this another one of the confussing labels that Classic Flight/Air Base/CAT operates under ?
I qoute from the website Adrian links
“The Cloudmaster is owned by Instone Air Lines, which in 1919 became the first trading concern in the world to employ aeroplanes in its ordinary business.
As she enters the fourth decade in our ownership it is a thrill for us to operate this wonderful aircraft and we look forward to sharing her with you”
&
“Cloudmaster Limited is the management company set up to operate the Douglas DC-6 Cloudmaster, G-APSA.”
Aeroclub decal sheets (was two sheets) were fetching very high prices on eBay recently. I seem to recall reading not that long ago that the company was to do a reprint shortly but don’t quote me on that.
A pleasure to help 😀
He did also did rather a nice book as well featuring more of his photographs of the Reds. I have no connection to the seller btw.
