The Airtime Publishing book Phantom Spirit in the Skies has a full page colour spread of the airframe you are asking about in the colours you mention.
XV495. A simple search on the web hould provide more info in its history.
Probably won’t make any differance but there is a government e petition. Already got over 10,000 people signed up.

I rather like the picture of the Cat coming in above the greenary. Very evocative.
In shock and disgust at this news.
Slightly confused how with 6 million viewers F1 gets cut when the coverage of Moto Gp continue’s. Unless thats the next announcement looming on the horizon.
A half hearted attempt by the BBC to get out of F1 before fully leaving at the end of the contract.
I can’t afford to watch on Sky so after over 20 years of viewing thats me out the sport.
Bernie hang your head in shame for pricing the average guy out the sport. I hope the F1 teams get a backbone and stop this in it’s track. News on other forums suggests they were unaware of this deal.

If there is a lack of space for the Victor & Shackleton why is the IWM giving under cover space to airframes which are not their own ?
DAS Comet & York spring to mind.
Not saying that they should be ousted but surely a museum looks after its own airframes longevity first.
Just arrived back from Coventry Airport and what a lovely sight she made even in primer.
A shame there was only one flypast before breaking to land but understandable.
I look forward to seeing her up and about on a regualr basis.
Well done to all involved
Could well be from external storage. The pod element of the airframe is not of a material that likes the outdoors. Although Wellesbourne Museum seem to have coped admirably over the years with maintaining their example from the elements.
Picture’s taken here of Vampire T11 XD626 at the Midland Air Museum in April 2007 and show what happens to a pod that is given no/little care.
Very much so, and something so differant on these shore’s
Loved the P-63 since seeing TFC original example in Russian markings at a Confederate Air Force UK Wing organised airshow at Coventry Airport in 1988?
Knowing how hard it can be to get parts for airframes of UK origin I can only admire your dedication and efforts in proceding with this project.
Fantastic project you have there.
Please keep us posted with updates.
Very impressive picture of part of the Baby Wing Walkers Team.
If the market dictates that the nose cone is worth that much, what for the whole airframe ?
I quite enjoy Radio 1 😮 until one of the presenters open there mouth…
Seconded. I seem to spend more time listening to Radio 2, where some of the old Radio 1 bods from my younger days now hang their ear phones.
Or local BBC Radio which, although it isn’t meant to be funny genuinly is one of the funniest things on air for all the wrong reasons.
