Superb, I enjoyed that.
Where abouts are you for flying to in Ireland?
Nice Matt,
Did you get any of the Virgin 744 or the FCA 767 that departed between 11am and midday to Sanford? 😀
I believe so,
I was speaking to a captain who flies for a charter airline, sent me an e-mail from Miami where he and other crews had been sent to ride out the storm. Positioned back to Cancun on Tuesday night and flew home after min rest. Noticed them on telext arrivals for MAN and GLA.
What happens the holidays makers though? Left to ride it out in the airport or provided with hotels?
Heard him on the Colin and Edith show on Radio 1 today, (Dont know why he was on that!), seems like a pretty down to earth guy, though hes one of these annoying ones that says ‘obviously’ in every sentence ;).
Yep, I heard him on RTE 2FM this morning being interviewed, didn’t notice to many ‘obviously’ s but lots of ‘basically.’ Basically we rang them, they basically said this, we basically heard that, we basically did that and basically here we are
Basically we live, we die. 😮
Good luck to him.
Currently I’m just using CDs as a backup. If I lost my aviation ones, I’d be annoyed but I suppose wouldn’t leave sleep over it. It’s the family, friends and pets ones I’d be more worried about. I’m planning on getting some of them printed, some cheap deals around and they can join the boxes of others.
Since there is no permanent, 100% reliable medium, I think you just have to take the difficcult option and backup in several places. I’d quite like a portable hard drive, I know there is a chance of it crash but I’d like it as a ‘working’ photo album. I have a habit of sending things to CD and not seeing them again for months.
Depending on how much patience, time and how important they are to you, back up in a few places CDs/DVDs, other PC, portable hard drive.
Forgive me Martin, but you are a man of many faces lol. From the one in the newspaper that showed you with red hair and uniform, then the top one greeting Richard and then following two (in which for once you look the same :D)
In the top one you look a bit like Ewan McGregor.
Look forward to more 😀
The cops were great, in fact we had no problems at all with them :diablo:
What about vice versa? :diablo:
Nice shots, definitely some interesting traffic.
Interesting, thanks. Planning to head up and haven’t been stopped by security at the entrance in a long time so not sure what the response to the scanner would be, when going to ‘enthuse’
Thanks Andrew.
Mark L,
What security was this? Going through to departures or at the entrance hall?
I think anyone who decides to start up an airline should be prepared for the cynics, as in any industry. We are here to discuss commercial aviation and while Martin is a member of the forum and is known ‘personally,’ he and Alpha One aren’t exempt from sceptics.
I would like to think everyone here supports him and hope he does well, but you cannot blame anyone for deing doubtful. It’s a competitive and complex industry, you’d be naive if you think everyone becomes a success.
My own view is that it has dragged on a bit (which doesn’t encourage postive views) but I do wish him all the best and can only compliment his determination in getting this far and still fighting.
Touched down 21.25z, taxiing 22.
Any time I have visited. I’ve never saw any obvious access to the upstairs. :S
Blackpool’s airport tower is slightly smaller than that, and a lot cosier when I visited it last 😀
Looking on the brightside, 170 pax, must be doing well 🙂
