MAN-SFB flights going out via MIMKU and SUNOT aren’t too uncommon, but the past few days the westbounds tracks have started as far north as ATSIX and even RATSU (60 and 61 degrees North).
During the early part of the week, 744s were managing JFK-LHR in 5hrs 10. Atlas were doing Charleston(South Carolina) to Prestwick is less than 6hours, a 3400nm trip, and winds over Glasgow yesterday at FL300 were 175kts! Of course it’s all down to domestic flights ruining the world with them making up 99% of CO2 emissions, BAH!
At almost 5000nm, it’d be well into 11 hours with light winds. Already approaching the limit, especially if full.
Incidentally, two old plans I have for FCA71 HUX-MAN show it one day as 9hours 40mins coming back and another week as 10hrs 40mins.
Even a heavy 767 still has the performance that can blow others away. Depending on the engine variant, it could have over a massive 120,000lbs of thrust to give a kick in the pants and climb like a homesick angle.
What’s more important to you, getting a job that you like/love and can happily remain in for years and years, or taking some stick from your ”friends” for missing out on ”snow ex pat filled old people loving Benidorm for a week?”

Slightly off-topic, but have a look at this.

757 I believe.
I can’t remember whether it was coming from DFW or departed to DFW.
But checking this evening, its due in again in the morning from DFW around 0730 as NAO7001.
How about these two, both flown by the late Ray Hanna.

Very cool shots, if only the Trident at BFS was in as fine a state!
Nice shots Lance,
I was thinking about trading in my 300D and its kit for the 30D, especially now with the cashback offer. Ho hum, what to do…
One of aircraft involved was a 767-200ER, N334AA. But the other, N612UA wasn’t an ER model, simply a 767-200.
But here is the funny thing: shortly after 9/11, Boeing quietly changed the 767-200ER’s max T.O. weight from 300,000 pounds to 395,000 pounds.
Somehow I find that hard to believe, that it quietly changed a MTOW by 95,000lbs! A quick look shows a -200 as MTOW 300,000lbs and a -200ER as 395,000lbs. It doesn’t show a -200 as 390,000lbs, books aren’t always terribly accurate, especially when there are different series of aircrafts and different variants of each series.
I think the last 737 is to go in 2011, and the first one to leave for GOL was/is the aircraft that hit a lamppost in AMS a few years ago.
I can’t see many unusuals for today except for a 744 operating the 903U FRA-LHR this afternoon.
Liverpool was/is pretty bad with a few EZY’s having diverted to Blackpool as far as I know.
