Nice shots!
What size lens were you using?
Steve
I’m just starting out with my Nikon D40, so I’m no expert, but I use the following –
S Mode
Between 1/160 and 1/400 shutter speed
Exposure compensation at +2/3 or +1 if the sky is light and the aircraft dark and -2/3 or -1 if the sky is dark and the aircraft light
55mm to 200mm DX lens
Manual focus usually, or sometimes AF-C with dynamic focussing
A far as I see it, we should be using M mode. P I think is basically the same as putting it on auto. I am using S at least until I begin to understand aperture a bit more, then I will swap to M
I’m sure some of the better photographers here will have some better ideas!

Wild guesses will now be accepted 😀

Me109 – Don’t judge all cat owners the same. My two are both kept in-doors, it’s far safer for them!

Thanks Johnboy

Of course, I had to be honest, already discounted Farnborough on account of the cost, and the fact I went to Legends last week
Should probably have mentioned that in the first post.
I do now.
I did say it was a ‘n00b’ question! 😀

I’d forgotten about this one…

I can’t work out whether its rubbish or not.
Penny for your thoughts

Thanks for your suggestions.
Baginton (Coventry) it was. Pics to follow in the Photography forum shortly

True Keith, although it’s going back to the shop in the morning – not impressed by it for airshow photography (although a fantastic compact)
May swing by my Dad’s in the morning and swipe his D50 – then I can startle you!
I’m torn between the two now.
Whilst I saw Liberty Belle at DX on Saturday, the opportunity to get a bit more ‘personal’ with her, would be nice. I loved Legends, but seeing those planes in a quieter, less busy environment would probably have made it a bit more poigniant.
