Ah, no that is the upside bit of Stirling I saw, the area around the wing spar. The previous photo was the fuselage around the tail section

Right then, the last couple of “not sure what it is photos”!!
This we were told is a Halifax but after a comment by someone I am now having doubts, anyone have any idea what it is from?

Most certainly the largest remaining Sterling parts, although I think it was upside down when I saw it

And again, the boat in photo 5 was the type they used to hang under Sunderland’s for rescuing crew members ditched in the sea. I think
Oh, and photo 3 is a weapon that they slung below the wing of Phantoms, some sort of very rapid gun, you can see the amunition case at the far end

Photo 12, the big oil drum type thing, I think is some sort of casing for an atomic weapon. The curator did explain what it was to me, but I forget the details
Photo 7 looks like a ski off a waterboat, but thats only a guess, I would have no idea what off

They have been flying a couple of nights until 1030pm, so that almost certainly explains the activity over Newent.

suggests it is stored at RAF Shawbury. I realise this may be a few years out of date, siting Cardington as the home of the RAF Museum Reserve?
