Only 1 Mi-8T was left, other helicopters(4) of that type were sold to Kyrgyzstan(62000 USD each)
Our “fighter school” was a litlle different than soviet. Our trainning programme was based on the east german method wich was a litle modified in the late 70s
Any details in the book about the maneuvers “bell” & “hook” with the MiG-21 ?
Sainz i do not have this book (it is published in Belgrade) but i will try to find it next time.I am not optimist that there will be anything about bell and hook maneuvers becouse these maneuvers were not practiced on YAF MiG-21.
Looking at this old topic…really Su-30MK was described as the most favourable fighter by the highest YAF officers especially MiG-29 pilots.
Durring same year YAF delegation visited Russia and one flight was made on this type.I know personally pilot who made that flight and that was a secret visit. Now it is interesting that some websites launched information about possible buy almost in the same time (only a few months latter)
Yes helicopters have a nice future.
Also instructors at Golubovci AB are prepared for comming of new students from various countries(including NATO countries like Germany).
About those two G4 from aviation club “Nasha Krila”-they were returned.
I have heard that AFM will publish nice article by Aleksadar Radic about Montenegro military aviation today so please wait a litle….or hire me to write something if you cant wait:D 😉
They are quite rare.
Everything is relative:D
The most of photos came from various Yugoslav books or magazines (book:”Jets”-Micevski,Dimitrijevic,”YPA” ,magazines: “Front”,”Aeromagazin” … or Yugoimport prospects
Btw. Tito(post 28th April 2006, 11:27)looks into HuAF MiG-15(not F-86) at Batajnica AB,Air Test Centre(VOC)

Than those MiG-21bis photos are from MOST
Last photo :MiG-21bis,ex Iraqi AF with YAF markings(but Iragi AF registration)

As i promissed:
Intake is 910mm
Everything i can i will share..Dont worry i did not forget you..i need to find data for you about producer of colours wich were used on new serbian low vise MiG-29 sheme too.
I feel that is my duty to say if i found some other data..or discovered some other
sources.About name from first page of passport this will probably remain mistery to me why
it calls this plane SM.
I have now HI res photo of that plane but it is not mine photo so you can only trust me that panel
lines doesnt look like regular ST(posted by sainz).I can give you names of all pilots and mechanicans
wich i contacted about this theme and also some other people..i have also contacted
ex Zmaj and Moma overaul plant workers..
As conclusions i just need now only two things
-diameter od air intake(will have it soon)
-fabric number of at least one airframe(i did not get i when i had oportunity:(
but i hope that i will get that too in future)
I was pretty sure that ST but new data came…and you are right that this planes
are some kind of *******s (even they are BIS..normaly BIS have other engine and radar)
I am not sure what hapened with engines..we sold some of them and other were used
for spare parts in ORAO factory about radars..they were destroyed durring 1999.
I`m sorry bro to mess up your beautiful first name , we celebrate Svetozar nameday on may 16. , just four days before my birthday 🙂
Now, it seems you agree with E.Gordon that Iraqi Migs-21 were BIS even though at the beginning you have written the Iraqi Mig-21 aircraft passport says, it is a SM?
Is it true or not?
Yes but have you seen that i said that data about air intake size came from one mechanican..and yes i thought that this was hi trusted source. Please wait next week i will send someboody in base to to make some measurment job:)
So plese wait next week and we will certanly know what is right size of that intake.
P.S. I lied about my birthday:)) I did not know that this is imortant data here so i entered any date..is it important?:D( i dont like to give such kind of data..my birthay,my home adress etc..i gave my full name that is enogh:) I am not the only one who wrote this about that passport..see what other people say about same tihng on ABG forum(link posted by TEEJ)
There is also one interesting fact.Protective cover(for intake) wich is used on yugoslav af MiG-21 M (L-15) is too small for this ex Irak MiGs..(source : one ex yugoslav AF mechanican). M has same air inake diameter as MF also SM so this can be ussefull data i think..
P.S. My english is rusty this days but i hope that you understand me:)
I have a theory but you wont like it. 🙂 Those Iraqi Migs-21 in Yugoslavia were partly worn-out SM models from Soviet regiments, then overhauled, modified and then sold to Iraq. How typical for that times and Soviets dealing with non-trustworthy Arab countries
It is impossible that these are SMs .It is clear that it has larger bis hump..So it can be only ST or Bis..according some photos of air intake it looks like a BIS to me..but also some internal equipment sugest that it is older type.So it can be downgraded BIS or ST(if air intake is really smaller). I cant be SM,MF or real SMT.At tihs moment i belive more that this is bis..
