I did not merged that air intake.That info i recived from one our mechanican.I am planing to do that next time..but it seems that Gordon was right about this one..that is BIS but also that bis has older engine ,older radar and many other commponents wich are older and what i am sure that is not called BIS in its tehnical documetnation.
Why is that so?i really dont know..but this mixture of new airframe and oold equipment made this comedy of ex Irak MiG-21 in various books.
In Yugoslav publications,forums etc authors call them: SM,SMT,bis,MF with bis hump etc. i called that plane ST etc.. I even heard story that this was originaly SMT wich was modified in Zmaj overhaul plant..but than i got some contacts with people who relly worhed on this plane and thay said that they did only simple overhaul..nothing more.
In western pulbicatinos it is similar situation..IN AFM A.Radic say that is SMT..some sources reported that this is SM Tropical etc. only Yefim Gordon clearly call this planes BIS.
I think that we are finally very close to clear this situation.

For those who dont know serbian..i do not excluding there that this planes could be downgraded Bis (becouse i did not merged air intake,and some things are different than o regular soviet ST) but aircraft passport does not say that this is bis.

Btw ST in Yugoslavia is not regular soviet ST …it has some differences (not only equipment).

Niksi dont spend your time on disscusion like this.I am jurist and i could
write a lot about legal termine “agression” , “humanitarian law” etc. but
just dont want to spend my time here on that type of disscusion.
You cant beat big propagand machine..i am sure that even now some people think
that we attaked our land and started war and blue angel saved all of us and
gave us democracy (with bombs of course) ..and also that somwere in Irak there is still
factory of nuclear bombs..and that again the same angel will establish democracy(with
tanks off course)So please dont write more about this ..this is usseles.
I started this topic to wirite about good books and to point on some errors..and
i have now contact (thanks to this forum)with Yefim Gordon and some other
important writers.
LETS TALK ABOUT MiGs NOW PLEASE:)

Thanks hauki for quaestions..So what is difference?ST has smaller intake than bis and ST has diferent panel lines.
Why not MF-MFs(SMs) have smaller hump
But dont thrust to me i have some bad recognition skills:) 🙂 🙂

Can you post an image of the air-intake of those ex-Iraqi MiG-21STs ?

My friend Karl from Germany inspired me some time ago to research all available data about this STs in Yugoslavia..there is interesting fact about them..in aircraft passport(tehnical documentation wich came with aircrafts and wich contains a list of all partis in plane etc.) calls this plane SM..offcorse we know that this is not SM(MF).What we know for sure is that it had(aircrafts are now in Batajnica Air Base without motors,radars etc.) R-13 300 engines wich surely shows that this is ST.
First and only to fly in Yugoslavia were 21168, 21198, 21204 and 21206.
The overhaul of other was discontinued and their parts were stored together with MiG-23ML.
Yes i have some photos wich i can publish and i psoted it on some forums but
i dont know to post it here..so you can sene an email to me ..and in reply
you will recive all what i can publish.

I find some errors in FRA MiG-21 book too.When Yefim takls about ex irak MiG-21 wich came in Yugoslavia for repair(owerhaul plant Zmaj,Velika Gorica near Zagreb).He write that this are MiG-21bis wich is incorect.These planes only looks like bis but intake diameter is smaler,engine,radar and many other things(i will wirte more if you are interested) are differnt ..almost everything is same with SMT (only the hump is differnet) so this are so called MiG-21STs.
I am sorry becouse i wirte this on forums i would like to have Yefims e-mail adress and wirte him about this thing by private mesages so he could make some corrections for next edition of these great books.

About Radosavljevic MiG-29 it is unknown..some misslies are missing on the ground beside fuselage… but some of them could fall of when amraam hit the front of fuselege..
About Peric..i know him personally and i cant confirm this: “that they” he could say only “I did not fired”.He cant know what happened with Radoslavelvic after they were splited.
After all these years i am pretty sure that i know difference between MiG-29 and F-15 🙂
About “only two NATO manned aircraft lost”..well i am not agreed but that is for some other theme..and that doesnt have connection with Yugoslav MiG-29s or FRA MiG-29 book:)

I am talking here about video wich shows vertical stabilisers and engines wich looked like F-15.But still that doesnt mean that Radosavljevic shot down F-15..
