He probably means the one outside the old Liverpool terminal building that acts as a guardian, but im sure Roy will elaborate.

    Kind regards

Firstly, Steve, I admire greatly your work in interviewing veterans and I have no wish to quarrel with you.

However, if Ollie has the camera, which he says he has in one of the earlier posts on this thread, then my comment still stands. It equally applies to anyone else who might have it if Ollie hasn’t. Whoever is holding onto the camera or has lost it while in their posession is p*****g on the memories of two former members of this forum, both of whom were taken far too young and far too soon.

It’s eighteen months now since Steve’s death and for many of us it is still raw. That camera contains photographs taken both by Steve and Al and to those of us that knew them, either personally or just by internet contact, those photographs are a last link to two well liked and respected guys who are, and will remain sadly missed. Therefore I stand by my comments. As for personal issues with Ollie, I am one of those who actually bothered to spend time with him trying to help him get involved. Ollie shows no respect for anyone or anything, that’s all there is to it.

    Kev,

thank you for your kind comments about my work, I too do not wish to quarrel but without any of the context (or partial context ) given by later posts, few of us on the forum were to understand the depth of feeling felt against Ollie. I dont agree with making comments like those seen here but they are at least a little more understandable given your reasons.

Anyway, unless Ollie decides to explain/defend his actions, shall we draw a line under this and refrain from anymore negative posts and embark on the new camera. Bruces idea was good, but I think one of the loved aspects of the disposeable camera was that there was a real sense of continuity and working together on a forum project, something that those of us on the forum who do not meet up, probably enjoyed being part of. So, I accept Kevs offer of having it posted to me. Im not going near any aircraft for a time (although maybe Digby soon) but I will take a picture of all the images from the exhibition I staged last year which are in semi displayed storage in the office next door.

    Kind Regards Steve

It obviously isnt going to solve the problem of did Ollie have it or not but I recieved a disposable camera a couple of weeks ago that I will never use. use.

I can start the ball rolling again if we all so desire.

I cud take a few snaps at the Midland Air Museum which Im a volunteer at (Bet you cant guess which aircraft Id snap first :D) and then pass it on?

Maybe we keep a record of where it goes this time so there is no excuse for it to be lost?

thanks for the kind offer, if you want to do this ill volunteer to be the first recipient if you want to get the ball rolling and enough people are interested

    Ollie.

I urge you to find that camera and pass it on as soon as possible.

You’ve shown you have no respect for the living, at least find it in your heart to show some respect for the dead.

Please find that camera and pass it on today.

    Regards,

    kev35

That’s a cheap shot whatever your personal issue with Ollie is. An awful thing to say.

Ollie, please pass the camera on as soon as you can, it would be appreciated.

    thank you.

As Mr. Adlam seems intent on making posts which promote his business, shouldn’t these posts be considered to be breaking Rule 6 of the Code of Conduct?

“6) Blatant advertising of products and services is unacceptable, if you wish to advertise please contact our advertising team on +44(0)1780755131 or email info@keypublishing.com”

    Seems pretty blatant to me.

    regards,

    kev35

Kev, if we were to take issue with Mr Adlams postings then surely you should take issue with the many other similar posts that are on this forum which advertise products on private sites or members own items on ebay.

He’s hardly the first. Sometimes these items seem to be of genuine interest to some people.

    kind regards, Steve

Instead of talking about what you would do if you found them, which you won’t, why not go and do something useful like massage your ego.

Instead of mouthing pure arrogant bile why not stand for election, you already have a manifesto, change the world with your actions rathen just opening your mouth.

    Regards,

well said, the original act is very sad and deplorable, sadly however it provides an excuse for the verbal onslaught of bigotted and racist views that centre on popular scapegoats. If you want to change the world do as Kev suggests or even just something small closer to home will make a small difference.

People/companies need to be made accountable when using public money. Next we will have the Valiant in a veil, because its the right thing to do!

The first sentence makes complete sense and I agree. The next is such a ridiculous comment that its almost funny but actually isnt and I really despair to think what you actually mean by it.

here is a passage from wikipedia (not always the most reliable of sources admittedly),

“The duration of Crown copyright varies depending whether material is published or unpublished. Unpublished material was originally subject to copyright protection in perpetuity. However, the 1988 Act removed this concept from British law. Transitional provisions apply for 50 years after the entry into force of the 1988 Act which mean that no unpublished material will lose its copyright protection until January 1, 2040. New Crown copyright material that is unpublished has copyright protection for 125 years from date of creation. Published Crown copyright material has protection for 50 years from date of publication. Those works protected under Letters Patent have perpetual copyright claimed over them despite being published. Works where copyright is assigned to the Crown by an author are subject to the normal term of protection for that particular type of work, for example life of the author plus 70 years for a literary work”

so does this mean that any image taken prior to 1956 is therefore usuable without fee or have I got this completely wrong?

    thanks in advance, Steve
