Never noticed the sun at the time – but I am now!! ๐ฎ ๐ฎ
Pity they towed the cat around wasn’t it? Was hoping to get some taxi shots.
I thought the Cat was down for the flying display and yet they stuck it in the static. I really hope it will be displaying. Where are you watching the display from tomorrow? Roadside tomorrow and then on base sunday for me.
several JPs in including this one.
I think the people at Goodwood would have taken extreme care with all these priceless exhibits, from what I heard to day the big issue was the bad weather earlier in the week.
Note the retaining clamps on the S 6B.

true, im sure they would have but there is always the risk and no doubt it wouldnt have been eay getting them in those positions.
there was some debate as to whether it was a hoax.
it looks good but I hope they didnt damage the s6b or the bluebirds.

hunter,
Hi Gareth, I was up there today too. Got sunburnt like a real idiot ๐
We probably passed by each other at some point.
good old British defeatist attitude eh, for christ sake if they havn’t got the money lets help them get and get her back up again. Get a bucket, label it and walk around a legends, RIAT etc.
Its the only chance of a flying Vulcan, so lets help it not knock it.
Stop being so bloody negative.
Philo. I don’t people here are being negative as such but more realistic and wary of a heavily flawed campaign. Time after time the campaign has shown themselves up with the way they have handled the whole project. Things such as;
– Threatening to scrap the Vulcan if funds were not forthcoming. The voice of Aviation preservationists?
– constantly conflicting reports of how much money is needed, shifting of goal posts.
Ive donated a few pounds here and there but thats it from me, there are too many other projects in need and I would imagine many people are starting to feel this way.
Connie has cancelled.

Ummmm How did we win the war? Come on people just rejoice that matters are progressing, and stop picking holes. She may not have a prop, and burn rather than turn, but I bet none of you would turn down the chance of seeing her take to the air again. I wouldn’t thatโs for sure.
What should we rejoice? There seemes to be little new information in this press release. It says they still need partnership funding and without this the lottery funding is still locked up. Seems to be the same story told in a different way. Whether it has a prop or not has nothing to do with it, most people, if not all, would dearly love to see this aircraft fly and no doubt some have contributed funds to this end.
best regards
steve
Wonder if it’ll feature the Spruce Goose ?
The trailer has a shot of a design model of the Hercules ‘Spruce Goose’ so it will be mentioned no doubt. I think the film concentrates mostly on his early years with Hughes involvement in films and record breaking aircraft. Directed by Martin Scorsese so should be well crafted.
No longer in my possesion im afraid, I think I sent it to Neil, as in Guzzi

Great ideas for Steve Hatton, but…
I get the impression he only uses public transport.
Tends to limit his options.
yes dhfan, i do only use public transport but im resourceful with buses and not afraid of long walks ๐ sadly when I was 17 I thought gliding was much more fun than driving and have never felt the need to drive since! ๐
thanks for everyones replies so far, I think Metheringham is high on my list at the moment and perhaps if I have time for a second, Bardney. Metheringham is somewhere I always see out of the bus window on the way to Coningsby/East Kirkby from Lincoln and so will be no problem to get to.
Hopefully should get some good pictures from the airshow at Waddington to to share.

It was a huge shame about Kee Bird. It would have been nice to know another one was flying. I guess now the only hope of a second flyer would lie with Kermy Weeks.
good site on the restoration of ‘doc’, if kermit weeks gets his B29 in the air then it would probably be the third airworthy example by that time.
