To me your site seems to have a lot more style than substance, and the content it doesn’t seem fresh in the least. Just my opinion though. i shall give it another look when it is finished though. If you’d like to let us all know 🙂
best regards, steve

RE: kermit weeks/lancaster
I often have to change trains at Doncaster so im deifnately going to pay a visit to aeroventure when im able. Sadly ive got a broken foot at the moment so will have to wait 🙂
RE: kermit weeks/lancaster
Tom,If you can see anything of the lanc inside the crates then i’d be grateful for the pictures. If not i wouldn’t want to waste your time.
many thanks, steve
RE: Jan/Feb Lanc runs?

RE: What’s the gem for Flying Legends then?
Why haven’t Sally B and Pink Lady formated for a pass at Legends yet?
Surely with the skill of the pilots involved it shouldn’t be too hard for even a loose formation to happen?
My choice to come over for Legends would be FM213 but i think a pig flying over the Cambridgeshire sky is more likely…..

RE: They all look good !
I too think that the BBMF lanc is taken for granted, and surely complaints that the nose art is a little too high or a little too low is going way over the top.
I too have been on the BBMF tour many a time and the tailfins were mentioned. They were said to be of the “Lincoln” type which is open to interpretation i guess. The gentlemen who give up thier time do a fantastic job at Conningsby and the last occasion i visited i was given a very graphic description of some of the horror stories of the flights over Germany. I guess there are some things that literature can’t convey.
As for FM213, anyone know why she has such camoflage? In some photots the paint looks spot on but in others, with different light it looks way off. Somehting to do with the paint type perhaps? Either way she looks fantastic.

RE: Avro Shackleton WL790
The coventry Shack is capable of running its engines upis it not though? anybody know when this last happened? Are the two in Surrey which were/are near Gatwick still run up occasionally.
How many preserved Shacks are safe and under cover? im only counting one so far (manchester museum of science and industry)

…and the fact that the hangers are now sealed and full of grain 🙂
RE: aircraft wrecks in Scotland
i saw this site a while ago and im glad you reminded me of it peter. The firefly remains are aazing, the yellow paint work hasnt faded in the least.
Surely the wings would be of use to someone in a restoration, or should they be left as they are?
-an open minded steve 🙂
RE: FW-190 at Manching
theres only one response to that photo………WOW!!
why reproduce P51s, havent we enough when there are so many types out there to be brought back.

RE: Lancaster NX622 engine run
Its very commendable of them to get the engine running on the starter motor but if they cant follow that up by actually getting the engines running, its seems a waste. Nevermind, it’s better than nothing.
I cant imagine ill ever see a couple of Lancs in formation in my lifetime. Even when i saw two B17s together (flying legends) they insisted on flying them miles apart 🙁

ps- could we PLEASE club together and get lancman a large hacksaw this christmas!!! 😉
RE: Lancaster NX622 engine run
Do they intend on getting the engines fully operational? If so we could, with a bit of luck, have five operational lancs in 5 or 10 years time. FM159 FM213 PA474 NX622 and NX611!!!!! 🙂
