There was a whole heap of guys out there yesterday (29th). One of them must have been from here surely? I was in BNYS if you were and did!

Will they let me back into their country in November i wonder??

They’ll let you in after a bottom inspection! You only need to worry if you realise you have a hand on each shoulder and only one guy doing the inspection!

I personally think the question is impossible to answer to give any creedence. The figures from the manuals are guidelines really anyhow as they refer to the perfect aeroplane on the perfact day driven by the perfect pilot. Of course the last one is easily acheiveable as we are all perfect but the rest of them are far less so.

The MyTravel has an OY reg which would be the Danish side of the company, formerly Premiair. With that in mind I would suggest it will have come from Scandinavia somewhere.

Nice to see fully gear up shots as opposed to doors gaping open. I suppose that is not difficult with the 146 as it relies solely on the curvature of the earth to get airborne!

Early arrivals from Greece no doubt down to the 90kts of wind at 360 over Northern Greece/Southern Italy. We managed to make up over an hour today being 2 hours late off but only 50 mins late to return.

I thought there would have to be some photos posted today as there were a lot of people hanging out along the fence today. Shame you didn’t get one of me in G-VKNC. I always hope!

Don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions. It is rare for the weather to be the cause of an accident. It can quite easily be a contributing factor though. Accidents are not as simplistic as that but more an error chain that occurs. In one model they liken it to slices of Swiss cheese with holes in and all the holes finally lining up to lead to an accident.

The aircraft was parked there never to be flown again.

There’s a lot of nighttime activity going on down there with it. Flood lights all over the place and plenty of vehicles running around.

Those ex AAE 74’s are good for something after all.

Paul – The reason you onlyu see it on those days is the humidity level which is of course somewhat higher in LA. Still needs a very small temp/dew point split.

At Kai Tak, as at any airport, the go around can be initiated from any point on the approach, just care must be taken to follow the intended track as opposed just following the instructions. By this I mean that a go around initiated prior to the missed approach point must fly over the missed approach point before any turns are made. May sound obvious but I have seen many guys mess it up in the sim. I a situation like Kai Tak there was a seperate procedure for going around after passing decision altitude but it is far too long ago for me to remember.

Not as far as I know.

David2386 – My sentiments exactly. Even after all these years flying I still run through the GA drill on every approach. A landing is a bonus!

Oops! Yep, you are correct. I forgot Tatu has come back particularly as it is being so well behaved lately.
