Felicidades a la FACH
Ecuador has KFIR C2 and KFIR CE (KFIR C10) as the best assets of the FAE, also FAE has Mirage F1. The both are great aircraft, i think that the Mirage is a better figther than the Kfir C2, but the Kfir CE and their Phyton IV AAM are better than the F1.
I can even make an animated movie with Mirages F1 shooting Missiles and a nice little song with the pilots leaving their planes and being cheered by the crowds after a glorious victory against the ‘Powerful’ Peruvian Air Force.
Very Top Gun with Tom ‘ Gonzales’ Cruise on it……
HOw about this peruvian testimony
The testimony of FAP Major (comandante) Valladares was published the 17 of sept of 1995 in the newspaper “the Republic” of Lima-Peru, whose extract is transcribed:
“Friday 10 of February, 7 a.m.” To Major Valladres had not assigned any operative one.
“By my degree of Major I demanded that they programmed to me. A young pilot had to yield his place. I wanted to give the example.”
“That day my mission was to bomb a strategically important point of the Ecuadorian troops in Tiwinza. We flew towards the place. Was approximately the one of afternoon (13:00). We already were close when we saw two Ecuadorian Kfir airplanes. Even so we decided to fulfill our mission. We arrived at the objective and we loosen the bombs “.
“the Kfir detected to us. They turned with direction towards our airplane… ”
“Everything was in seconds. The Kfir persecuted to us. I took the airplane controls. I chose to evade them. It tried to reach the minimum height to put to me between the gorges and not to be demolished. The Kfir is much more quick and it reached to us. No longer it could escape and I did not have left other than to turn and to give the face him to avoid the aim. Suddenly I see a missile. I maneuvered but it hit and it damaged the tail to me destroyed the motors and the control rudder “the airplane entered loop inverted without control.
The major thought about his family and tried to dominate the ship. He could not. I saw to Mendiola captain shot by airs: he had ejected.
“I wanted to save to my airplane. He could not lose it. He wanted to dominate it and to take it to Piura. He saw earth more and more close and I hauled the ejection suitcase… ”
The major was itself coldado of his parachute falling slowly towards the forest of Tiwinza and the river.
“No longer he could see where my airplane had fallen. It was the first time that had airdropped to me. I did not feel fear. It only thought to leave safe and save”.
“My first intention was to fall in the river. I could not. The parachute took to me towards the border: weeds, rocks and trees. I fell of backs on a great rock. I was saved of miracle.

No pudo.
“Yo quería salvar a mi avión. No podía perderlo. Quería dominarlo y llevarlo a Piura. Veía tierra cada vez más cerca y jalé la maleta de eyección…”
El comandante se vio coldado de su paracaídas cayendo lentamente hacia la selva de Tiwinza y el río.
“Ya no podía ver dónde había caído mi avión. Era la primera vez que me había lanzado en paracaídas. No sentí temor. Sólo pensaba salir sano y salvo”.
“Mi primera intención fue caer en el río. No pude. El paracaídas me llevó hacia la orilla: maleza, rocas y árboles. Caí de espaldas sobre una gran roca. Me salvé de milagro.

In fact the crowd in TAURA AB was very happy after the combat.
That’s not the point here. The ‘Original’ Videos from the Mirage F1s are the proof.
Why you need proofs?, the FAP planes gone down and the ecuadorian pilots report the facts.
And by the way, Ecuador is small. So is Peru. The days that Peru had dominance over South America are LONG gone. Furthermore, peruvians have the right to defend their homes. Never mind the quantity of soldiers without legs due to anti-personnel mines left by Ecuadorian soldiers on their quick – skirmishes with Ecuador are always brief – retreat.
Next time, the peruvian president may choose not to restrict defense operations to peruvian territory. A key factor in this ecuadorian mess, called Cenepa.
No need to be sharp to realize that FAP could have destroyed – even with the few a/c available at the moment – the glorious Kfirs and Mirage F1s on the ground or returning from the few missions that actually were launched by FAE. But Fujimori liked to take chances; So, he ordered not to ‘trespass’ ecuadorian territory.
What is your point here? Actually the Cenepa War was a ecudarian victory but i think that this topic is no the place to debat it.
A peruvian webmaster has made the following animation regarding the shooting of the Su-22s:

It is an unofficial animation, of course….. 😀
I prefer the ecuadorian one
Two enthusiastic ecuadorians have produced a serie of sheets with illustrations of airplanes of the FAE. More information at :

Saludos desde Guayaquil
The FAE published a commemorative book by the 25 years of Mirage F1 squadron

Could you please give us the current order of battle of the Ecuadorian air force? The kinds of aircraft still in use, numbers of them etc. about fighters, training aircraft, transport aircraft (tactical and VIP) etc.
I think that the best info about ORBAT of the FAE is here
the only observation is that esc 2110 no longer flies because the SEPECAT Jaguar is out of service (¿reserve?)
Is that the EL/M-2032 of the Kfir CE?

Yes
thanks Arthur
Ok, I am assuming the US of A was the primary destination? Could the HS 125-400 make it to the USA from Ecquador?
In this case the plane fly between Ecuador and Mexico, then the drugs go into USA by other ways (no aerial). I think that the US airspace is very controlled by the USAF to try a clandestine operation with a jet.
