    Hi James,

Yes they use a Rapide shockstrut assembly but have it fastened to a large casting bolted to the stern post to lower it down.
    Thanks for looking

I have a copy of the care and maintenance for the Gipsy Six, but the Queen III would be usefull, is it available or can I borrow it to copy. I keep looking on eBay but none turn up for the Queen II ( unless I missed a posting)
I am after the Queen II as well because it has the information on the fittings for the VP prop and I want to know how it compares to the Gipsy Six which according to my manual says is for fixed pitch props only.
These manuals are to help with the engines for the Comet and a Mew Gull replica.
    Many thanks

    Hi Matt,

I have been after a couple of these for a while now but they seem very thin on the ground, so if you come across more than one perhaps you could let me know, if I do turn up any I will let you know.

    Good luck

    Hi Elliott,

Definately not Spitfire, the only wood used on a Spitfire is a strip of spruce about 5/8″ square bolted to the lower tailplane ribs on the earlier models to screw the lower skins to.

The elevators on ML427 in the Birmingham Museum must have been made for display.

The ribs on e-bay may be from a Miles aeroplane.
