Thanks for the posts I will give them a try.
Hello Anthony, I have sent you a note, many thanks
Thanks for posting the Comet and Mew Gull pics, fantastic.
hello jeepman, I spoke to Bill who is looking after the page and he says you can look at it without signing up but you need to join the group which he says is easy, to post a comment.
A direct link to it is.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/330548433801421/
If I have copied it right that is.
Bill is constantly thinking about updates and asking us for ideas so please keep looking
Ken
Hi, thanks for the info I didn’t know that but Bill our volunteer did say it was a public site so anyone can look but I have to sign it to see it so not sure. I will be seeing him this morning so will ask his opinion.
I met Tracey last year when she came to have a look at the comet projects, she is a very nice lady and has a great ‘can do’ attitude. I believe she is planning to try and emulate Amy Johnsons flight to Australia next.
She has a web site http://www.birdinabiplane.com

We are looking for some Chipmunk, throttle and mixture levers to use on the Comets, or even a set to copy. Alternatively does anyone have a drawing
Ken
that would be great if you can help, there is no rush ,Ken
Hi Ken, We have one left over from VP967. Probably won’t be able to lay my hands on it until March.
That’s interesting , I have sent you a pm
Hi, I am after a couple of oil pressure gauges for my Comet panel as shown in the pic on the left hand side. Sorry its poor quality but original panel pictures are rare and this one was taken off a video.
Hello Elliott,
there is a great place we use here in Derby for Zinc plating of steel and anodising of Aluminium. They are very reasonable as well. If you drop me a note I can sort it for you
Ken
Thanks for all the info Philip that verner engine looks interesting. I don’t think the swift looks quite as good with the Gipsy engines as the Pobjoys.
Fingers crossed one is started at the club and I will keep you posted
Ken
Thanks for the interesting posts, I don’t remember the earlier post of a couple of years ago and perhaps I should have done a search, but as you say I am just seeing if any might be available as the interest in building a Comper Swift is real, and I believe the funds are there.
We have all the drawings by the way and the latest talk is of putting the metal fittings on CAD to get them water jet cut, which would save hours of work.
Ken
Yes G-ACSP is indeed taking shape here at Derby, and we are now on the final wing spar with the aim to start assembling the wings in the next 6 weeks.
Plus the replica I am building of the ‘Green one’ G-RCSR is also going well with the fuselage done and I am making a set of wing spars for it in the same jigs as we have used for Black Magic.
Its fantastic news that Grosvenor House has flown again, cant wait to see it in the sir myself
Ken
Great pictures thanks for posting them. Being a Flea nut and having built one and helped restore a couple more, I like seeing others.
has anyone noticed the propeller on the Flea at Cosford is on the wrong way round, ie; the rear ‘pitch’ face of the propeller is facing forward. I spotted this when I was there a couple of years ago and told them about it at the time, but noticed when I was there a couple of months ago it was still the same.
Anyone else with more Flea pics to post
Ken.
