There’s the rim surrounding the IRST too, which seems to be at an unfortunate angle. All-in-all, this IRST looks very similar to the one from the Su-27, which wasn’t stealthy.
XB-70 – The IRST is roughly the size of the pilot’s head in most shots. An IIR AAM essentially has an IRST system at the front too, although far smaller, and external AAMs are regarded as a no-no for stealth. There are no other stealth fighters with such a system claiming VLO. Why didn’t the F-35 just go for a glass sphere for the EOTS? It looks out of place and I know the Indian partners have raised concerns about stealth.
He has a point though, further negotiations at this stage are a waste of time and money.
Here’s another.

FBW – A lot of the old stuff was either scrapped or passed off to successor states too, not replaced.
New photo – They seem to have covered the nacelles too but difficult to see given the angle.
Do you mean weather altering machine?
No, I mean ionosphere altering machines, although some foil hat fashionistas claim that those machines alter the weather too. Sunspot activity and certain weather conditions can also duplicate this affect, which is why you get E-skip, F2-skip and Tropospheric propagation.
Under normal conditions only frequencies below 30MHz are capable of forming a skywave for OTH capability. However, ionospheric modifiers can be used to transmit higher frequencies.
Odds are good the USAF will replace the three remaining F-15C Squadrons (2-Kadena and 1-Lakenheath) with the F-35A. While, the ANG F-15C’s will be replaced with upgraded F-16’s. Which, are quickly becoming surplus as new F-35’s come online….;)
I was under the impression that two of those 3 squadrons are F-15E squadrons.

Oh, I see, I missed that.

LJDAM integration.
The gripe I have on stealth claims is that the IRST represents as least as big an RCS as an IIR missile on a pylon on its own, and probably two. That has a frontal RCS of 0.05m^2 on its own, even without the rest of the aircraft.
Unlikely to be for cooling up there. The left two pictures are also of the opposite side of the fin (engine on inside). Could well be RWR related as a guess.
432-202 against the deal. I guess most people agree that even chaos is better than a well organised disaster.
