A random selection (not had time to process any more yet) taken last Sunday, 19th, at Los Angeles:

Andy, you gotta let me know when you’re in town. I could drive down to LAX so we could have a beer and do some spotting. Nice shots, by the way.

I say fly SQ, but I’m rather partial to the Star Alliance.

I like it. It will disassociate the new brand from the tragic accident.

Those look great. It looks really good on that 742. I would assume that the 772LR’s that they take delivery of from here on out will have them, as well.

    Ooh isn’t that a BMW design these days… ? 😉

Precisely why I’m partial to it. 😀

Just an update on this Oasis have now purchased the 2 747-400’s from Deucalion Capital for a mid-end September launch date.

Any idea who was the former operator of these 2 birds?

As much as I’d love to see concorde soar again, it doubt it’ll ever happen. That doesn’t preclude have a good go at trying to get it done though.

And on topic of the design contest. I can’t belieave people were sad enough to nominate a stupid underground map!

The underground map is brilliant! I’m rather partial to the mini myself, however.

Rebranding after a catestophic accident can do wonders. Anyone remember valujet? Yeah, well, after dumping a DC-9 into the Everglades 10 years ago, they had the FAA all over them for faulty maintanance records and all sorts of other stuff after that crash. They essentially became AirTran and AirTran is doing not too badly nonawadays, even having to compete head-on with DL at MCO and ATL. Nobody remembers Valujet anymore when they fly AirTran.

Simply brilliant. Love the 747 classics, especially the SQ. I had no idea that PA had dedicated 747 freighters.

I read on a.net yesterday that DL is ‘tapped out’ and they are trying to get their pilots to cancel their pension plan. I don’t know, it sounded like UA was pretty tapped out a year or so ago and they survived. If DL does go under, then hopefuly AF can pick up the slack and get you there via CDG.

How about Transcontinental and Western Air -> Trans World Airlines.

The 2nd one is definitely a Boeing narrowbody, as is evident with overhead bins. I haven’t the slightest clue about the airline, however. The first one is most likely a boeing 727 or 737, but I’m not at all familiar with DanAir, nor do I know the types they flew. I doubt it would be a DC-9 as the seats are 6 abreast.
