Will it make any difference when QR officially join Star later on this year or early next year?

The A300 has always been my favorite Airbus type, having flown on both the classic version with Olympic 23 years ago, and the -600R with Lufthansa on many occassions within Europe. I have also flown on both versions of the A310, having flown on the -200 with KLM back in ’89 and ’91, and the -300’s of Air Jamaica in ’96 and Lufthansa in ’99 when they were still on strength. They will be missed. Although I don’t see LH getting grid of their AB6’s anytime soon, as they are well used (282 all econo layout) and are typically operated to capacity on high-density Euro-routes. They are a staple on the FRA-ATH run, that’s for sure.

Is it safe to assume that the 5 outstanding orders of the A310 for IranAir, will not be fullfilled before the line shuts down?

No, EP-IBB was delivered to them new december 27th 1994. Construction number 727.

EP-IBC and IBD came from OA. All the others where either delivered to them new, or from THY.

Ok, thanks for that Peter. I knew that they had gotten an example or two from OA.

That’s a nice A300-600R of IranAir. Did they get that from Olympic?

they are the names of the aircraft. It’s a little picture of a map of where the aircraft is named after. i know one is called “Bay of Plenty” and others are named after various other areas of NZ

Thanks for that. That must be a recent additon in the last year or so, as I don’t recall them ever having when I flew them.

On another note, AC always seem to have a nice lineup into LHR, with the 2 types shown above, along with their 762’s and 763’s.

    Nice photo’s mate 😉

Can I just ask though, what’s the bulge on the El Al 777-200? It’s just over the 2nd door……….

It’s more than likely for their IFE (in-flight entertainment). Knowing EL AL, however, it could be for something else, communication, or added security device.

Wasn’t the ‘new’ Caledonian also one of the forerunners of JMC?

I didn’t think you would normally get an EK777 in PIK (unless I”m wrong), let alone the -300ER! Was EK the launch customer for said type?

What a blizzard! I’m not familiar with any of that here in Sunny SoCal. 😀 That Balkan Hollidays livery has to be one of the nicest around at the moment.

Speaking of timetables, anyone know how I can find out what aircraft I flew on in 1976 on TWA? Any database I can look in online? Any help would be appreciated.

I love those BWIA busses. Perhaps I’ll fly them in the future, albeit, their 738’s to SXM.

Currently, ONT (Ontario, CA) has temperatures of 8C with a wind chill of 6.6C and 50% chance of rain in the area and 3m/h winds from the north. Just 3 mi down the road near Chino airport, where I live, slightly warmer weather with 11C.

Sadly some people think they are better/more inteligent than others. I dont know why.

I will find out how to post small pictures and study all the liveries of all the airlines in the world just so that I dont give sad people the chance to ridicule me.

No, they really don’t. Some people just need to not overreact. This is a friendly forum, contrary to popular belief. No-one ridiculed anyone in this or the other thread about the F1. For those of you that don’t know Sandy, aka, Bmussed55, he’s one of the best people in here at offering advice in regards to photoshop, aircraft templates, etc. He is more than willing to help, and is by no means in the business of ridicule. He, like most of us, likes to throw a bit of sarcasm in there occassinaly. Similarly, we have many in here that are experts in the photography sector, and I’m sure they are more than willing to offer a helping hand when asked. Let’s drop this nonsense, and move on. No harm, no foul.

Nice photos. Anyone have any idea what that little symbol just forward of the first door on the NZ 744 is?

    What have I done wrong?

This is the second time you’re trying to find fault where none exists.

Seriously. Sandy was just correcting him, Phil. People do that in here all the time. No need to over-react on this.

By the way, I had money on Schumaker and Ferrari. 😡
