Just in my opinion, not that I have any hardcore data to support it; There’s no way in hell USAirways is going to sell the shuttle. Some people on the a.net forum make some good points, but the botttom line is, the shuttle operation generates way too much revenue for USAirways. Why would they sell that unless they absolutely had to? Look what happened to TWA after they sold their Heathrow slots to AA? End of Story. I’m very confident that Branson has a “token” owner that is U.S. based who will represent the required 51% American ownership. How has he managed to run Virgin Megastore and Virgin Mobile in the U.S. to date? Slots can be negotiated at any of those prospective airports, I’m sure. It would be nice if they were in cooperation with United as some of those a.net posts mentioned.
I’m not clowning on you, Britannia, I’m clowning on the report. I realize that you posted it verbatim.
It has if that particular example is making it’s one millionth visit-Assuming it landed there once a day! If it made 2 trips per day, then it’s been going since 635 A.D., give or take a year since I didn’t factor in leap years.
If “One-Seven-One-Delta-November” is making its personal one millionth visit, then it has flown into MAN every day since 735 B.C.
Thanks for that Peter. Would that be the first direct service between Amsterdam and Suriname? I’m well aware that there are a number of Surinamese in the Netherlands.
I’ve never heard of Phuket or SLM. Where are they from?
One millionth as an airline, I would think. Impressive either way. I have yet to fly DL. My Old Man flies them to Greece all the time.
Nice pics Franck, however, that OA aircraft is an A300-600, not an A310. Just me being anal.

Hi Greekdude, good to see you again.
Thanks for the tidings, Mike. Likewise on my end. You make a good point on the CRJ’s, I wasn’t even considering any aircraft in the United Express fleet, but you are right about them. Hand you are correct once again, as I mentioned before, rather easy trivia. Ironically, the grey and blue livery was introduced alonside introduction of the A320, which is why I asked the question in the first place. It would be nice to each of those aircraft in the old white livery, especially the 777.

I’m not sure that they are that succesful on the LGB-JFK route
You know what Hand, they probably aren’t. But the thing is, they could have horrible load factors on a particular route where they are specifically competing with a loco, and they’ll continue to operate it just by that virtue. In the long run, is really worth it? A few years ago, An airline called Legend started up executive service from Dallas/Love Field will all business class DC-9’s flying to LAX and IAD. What did AA do? They took a few F100’s and fitted them with an all-business interior, and started flying the same routes from Love Field, where they didn’t even fly out of in the first place. That is just pathetic. Turns out Legend didn’t last very long, but I don’t think it was because of stiff competetion from AA. I think their idea just wasn’t feasible at the time. Jetblue, on the other hand, is lasting just fine.
I agree that they are popular as well, but the fact that they don’t have any code-share agreements through AMS, would not justify them sending a 744. The 777 has enough capacity to send their pax whose desination terminates in Amsterdam.

It had to a 733 or 735, Batboy. UA don’t operate the 734.
Peter, I see UA possibly using the 744 into FRA, given the fact that they used those on that route recently, plus it’s a Star hub with LH. But using them into AMS? I don’t know. When was the last time a UA 744 made an appearance there? They’ll probably stick with the 777. How long ago were UA 763’s seen there?
Typical predatory tactics of American Airlines. When JetBlue opened their Long Beach (LBG) mini-hub a few years ago obviously flying to the main hub JFK, who decided to enter the LGB-JFK market? Yep, AA. I hope JetBlue continues to go head on with AA and succeed.
That is one of them, Hand. There is another as well.
I just did some research myself, and a few of those flights are indeed one-stops. UA0959 to DEN stops in ORD, UA935 to LAS stops in LAX, UA0919 to TPA stops in IAD, UA0931 to HNL and UA0955 to San Diego, both stop in SFO. I knew a few of those destinations sounded a little awkward as non-stops.
