My favorite seat, on any aircraft, any class, is seats 10F and 11F in the business class cabin of UA’s ‘old’ 762’s, not the ones with the refurbed interior. That’s why I’m so fond of the 762. Mind you, the refurbed ones are a heck of a lot nicer, and have more legroom, PTV’s, legrests, etc. There is just something about those 2 seats….
This plane never flew for QF, Mongu. Now, that’s not to say that it won’t in the future. I was down under 2 weeks ago, and I was told by the tarmac tour guide, that Air Pacific took both of the ex Ansett (leased from SIA) 744’s. I saw one of them, and have a pic, I think?
I agree with Cyprus, they need to be retired.
Michael, how about the 762? I flew on 2 of those myself this last weekend. I like the 762.
If they just herd 200+ people onto a plane like cattle, what makes you think they have lawyers?
Wunala Dreaming is gone, BigRedDog. It’s already been painted over.
I wasn’t aware there was a 51st or a 52nd state! Unless you’re counting Puerto Rico and Israel, respectively.
I’ve never actually done it, and surely you guys live in London and know much better than me. I’ve just had to make the journey from Central London to LHR. That sucks that certain Euro flights only operate from LGW, and if you’re flying BA from LAX into LHR, and you want to connect onto one of those flights, you’d have to make the journey.
That’s a very impressive pic. What airport is that?
That was a very good joke, and very old thread, September, wow.
I thought the Thiefrow, errrrrr, Heathrow express was very cheap, considering. Don’t recall the exact price, but it was a hell of a lot cheaper than the one time I took a cab from Victoria to Heathrow. That cost me like over 40 pounds. I agree with you Mongu, in that bags and the tube are not a good combo, but I’ve done it, and I had like 3 pieces, one of which was big. Mind you, it was a pain, but doable. Besides, isn’t Victoria and Paddington on the same line with one stop in between?
How about the train from Gatwick to Victoria station, and then the Heathrow express? I took the Heathrow express from Paddington, I believe, and that thing flies! Took like 20 minutes, and you can check in your luggage at the station.
No they do not. Somebody made mention of that, when the original thread was posted with the new livery.
I have no doubt it was a great airport, Kabir. I was just providing insight as to why it closed down to Ren Frew.
I saw it in person on a 757 at LAX, looks good.
