    RE: BRAZIL 2- GERMANY 0

Germany played like $hit. Brazil should have won at least 5-0.

Isn’t the Trent 500 the only engine choice for the A340-500/600? I suppose if an airline orders the aircraft, of course Rolls Royce is going to win the contract!!

Noisy, and not as fuel efficient as Western engines either.

Are they retaining the Ansett color scheme. Kendall has continued operations even after the grounding of Ansett, have they not?

I think you’re talking about the Cathay 777, right Ja? And now that you mention it, yes, I do see the tower. What became of that?

RE: VIRGIN BLUE and UNITED A/L TO CODESHARE IN AU

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, guys. Especially one that nobody responded to. Does anybody with Australia connections know exactly when this codeshare agreement is set to begin? I went on to ual.com and there was nothing. Or is it just speculation? That press release sounded pretty official to me.

That Air France is banked more than normal, I would think. Or it just the angle of the shot?

BA really helps out members in its own alliance, don’t they(said very sarcastically)? What’s the point of even being in an alliance then? I somehow think that Star members don’t experience this.

Is Sobelair what’s left of the former Sabena? I once saw a Sabena 767 in Cancun back in the fall of ’98. I guess those 767’s went Caribean hopping.

RE: BE GOOD TO YOURSELF,”FLY EMIRATES”

Emirates has little (if any?) action in the U.S. and they don’t fly to LAX. Perhaps I shall fly them from Athens to Dubai sometime in the distant future. I have heard nothing but good things about them (and Dubai). I have a Chelsea soccer jersey that has “Fly Emirates” on it. Does that count for anything?

I’ve gone inside a C-5 Galaxy, and that’s pretty damn big! I went inside the cargo hold, flight deck, even the crew rest quarters. Very impressive.

    RE: Condor

So, they are going to paint every Condor plane in those colors, even though technically, they are still owned by Lufthansa, if I’m not mistaken. What is up with all these charter companies in Europe merging together? I love the Condor color scheme, I will be very sad to see it go.

    RE: US Airways

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-06-02 AT 01:53 AM (GMT)]You guys dog on the U.S. airlines as if they are the worst. Who are you comparing them to, Virgin, Singapore, Emirates? Compared to them, yes, the U.S. majors are ‘sub-par.’ However, compared to most Euro-airlines (at least the ones I’ve flown on), the service is just as ‘good.’ I’ve flown on KLM, Lufthansa, Austrian, and Olympic. Austrian’s product was outstanding. The rest were just as good/bad (whichever way you want to look at it) as United’s, with whom I fly most of the time. Now if you want criticize America West, a.k.a. America’s Worst, feel free. They are attrocious. But United, American, Continental, USAirways, Delta, etc., there’s nothing wrong with their service, again, relatively speaking.
